What to do on a summer day?

How about cooling off at the Tempe Beach Splash Park?

That's what we decided to do yesterday.

Juxtaposed between Tempe Arizona's famous Mill Avenue District and the Tempe Town Lake is this little oasis. What better way to beat the heat than to ride the slides and step among the splash pads?

With school just around the corner this was one more opportunity to finish off the summer.

Hey!  This sounds fun.  When we went to Disney, our favorite place was the water park with the wave machine!

Hi Chuck, looks very refreshing!  Reminds me of beach days on Waikiki Beach... without the rip tides. Cool off and enjoy the wonderful wetness of water without the worry.  I think I need my coffee.

This sounds like a lot of fun! When I was a kid I loved water parks, but they usually only consisted of a couple of tall slides! Compared to today's water parks with wave pools, lazy rivers, and numerous slides, I don't even know if you can call the ones from my childhood waterparks!

Susan- This place is fun... even though it is close to the heart of the big city that Tempe is becoming, it's also a fun tranquil setting. The splash park exists mostly as a place to quickly cool off. For the Wave machine we have Big Surf- a simulated mini-ocean. Soon we'll have a huge water park that will have a wide variety of water adventures. I can hardly wait.

Mara- I get the feeling the kids are ready to go. Our summers can be quite hot... by now they'd just as soon be back indoors... waiting for spring break. :-)

Susie- This brand of wetness, with our temperatures mean you can get wet and be dry by the time you get to the car. (I only slightly exaggerate.)

Duane- It's lots of fun... but the kids decided to exit quickly and go closer to home where they could practice their diving.

Rich- We have several waterparks around the valley- each one of them packed.
