So I made another amazing connection with a Realtor 2 weeks ago... and we hit it off so well.  We're going to comarket and do other things that I offer to my partners...

So based in the realm of the "What is a good lead for you?" idea, I basically have this sort of approach.

  • What is your goal??
    To drive in some leads...
  • What type of marketing do you want to do??
mailings are ok but let's try to meet some people that could be connected to our market...
  • What market do you want to target??
    VERY QUICKLY SHE REPLIED... Relocations
  • You mean like Snowbirds?
No... like people relocating for work... everyone knows about the snowbirds...

So that set my wheels spinning... talking to HR people is tough because they get pitched for so many services every day!

Down here, the Scripps move into Palm Beach is great but it is the North County that will see most of the effect and Broward where she is located won't feel that much.

There is no heavy industry here... mainly tourism and trade.

So how do you corner a market that is transparent??

That's why I thought I should post this... there are too many opportunities here.  There are so many people moving to South Florida everyday.

  • Am I limiting to corporate relocations??
well... she might think so but no :)... sorry.. executive decision.  If you're moving here you're a relo - I don't care how or why... I'm not going to niche myself that narrowly... why would I?  A corporate relocation or a snowbird or a foreign national moving here for work are all the same scenario.

South Florida is and has always been a hot spot for relocation.  The reason my wife and I chose here rather than Chicago when we relocated was simple... we thought that there was a lot more opportunity to make money here from scratch.  I didn't need to know a lot of people to get started because there aren't as many long term relationships here.  Too many people passing through.  Too much activity... it is a great place for that reason.

Simply put, South Florida is a tropical climate in the continental United States.  There is an enormous amount of wealth living here among us groundlings.  There is an fantastic opportunity coming... nay HERE, NOW to capitalize on the market being down to provide our clients with low cost of homeownership!

  • Mortgage Rates in South Florida are as low as they have been in three years...
  • Foreclosures are dragging property values down
  • Properties are on the market for too long priced too high
  • Flippers are not able to find steals that they can remarket quickly...

All those factors are showing NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO MOVE TO FLORIDA!!!

and vice versa!

keep your clients close!  I believe that you are their best source of information now and you should capitalize on that relationship... when you call them and find out how they're doing down here in the 82 degree weather when you're suffering (haha) you have the ability to steer that relationship...

there are so many ways to make them your customers for life and I think ActiveRain is helping us bridge the gaps in our service by introducing us to one another so we can help each other's clientele

Ethan - Have you consider a little further north in Indian River County. We are "where the tropics begin" and property costs are less than Broward and Miami/Dade. We also have much less traffic, noise and few of the problems associated with life in the big cities. A recent news cast  was refering to Vero Beach as "the Hamptons" of Florida. Seems people are coming up to the barrier islands to escape from city. The islands are reported to have the 4th largest concentration of millionaires in the US. Check out my web site at www.indianriverhomesales.com to see what we have to offer here.
