How I work with Relocation to Northern Virginia

Real Estate Agent with Associate Broker, Momentum Realty

Moving can be scary.  You have a lot of choices--you probably have a new job or career.  You may not have friends in your new community, which will mean not only will you have to find and meet new friends, but you have to pick an area that will allow you to do that. You may know where you need to be generally, but not know the area well enough to be specific.

As an Accredited Buyer Representative, I am often your first 'touch-point' with your new city, town or community.  You may know the area where you want to be, but I see it as my mission to help you find the perfect home in the ideal community--for you. It may not even be the area that you think you want! We all have different preferences, desires and backgrounds. What might be the perfect community for one person may not suit the next one at all.

To make it all more stressful, you will often have a limited time (and budget) to make these critical decisions.

As a life-long resident of Northern Virginia, I can help you to determine which areas will provide you with the easiest commutes and which ones will add hours of driving to your day. I can help you find a community that is very welcoming to newcomers or help you to find one that will be respectful of your privacy. Need to be close to a metro station or want a neighborhood swimming pool? These are all things that we will discuss before we even start looking.

I recently worked with some folks who were transferring in to the area. They were very torn about their desire to live an 'urban' life while working in a suburban community.  I spent the day with them showing how they could achieve both goals.  I helped them to determine which sacrifices they were willing to make and which ones they were not. By listening to what my clients said during their many home tours, and really hearing their comments, I was able to help them to determine which type of property will make them the happiest.

The relationship between a buyer and the buyer's agent is a very important one.  It is critical that you have not only a good rapport, but a trust that the agent you select understands your needs and is committed to helping you achieve your goals. The agent you select should carefully listen to your needs and should help you to find a community that will meet most--if not all-- of them!
