Would you believe?  My home town is #1 in the Money Magazine Annual Best Places To Live list.  How did this happen?  For years I've heard people complain that there is no "downtown" Plymouth or that Plymouth has no identity.  Well guess what!  Plymouth has other things that are also important. Plymouth has topnotch schools, both public and private, good jobs, a low crime rate, great parks, trails, recreation dept, lakes, the Hilde Performance Center and more!

There is also the Plymouth Ice Center/Lifetime Fitness Complex. This facility is a first of its kind public-private collaboration. The City, Wayzata School District, Providence Academy and Life Time Fitness, with significant help from local hockey associations and the state of Minnesota, joined forces to make this first-rate recreational facility a reality. This facility provides ice for all types of skating activities, Swimming facilities for competition or recreation, and a large excercise facility with rock climbing, Basketball, Cardio & Weight lifting, etc. plus meeting rooms and seating for lots of spectators.

Next door is the amphitheather, millinium garden, the Plymouth Creek Community Center and the domed Fieldhouse for all the other athletics not included at the Ice Center complex.

Plymouth certainly isn't perfect and the rankings change on a whim from year to year but for today, Plymouth gets to have its day in the spotlight, perfect or imperfect.  For today you can go to your computer and visit http://www.money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2008 (you may need to copy & paste) to read all about the Best Places To Live and even read the comments both pro and con about the results.

As for me, I sell homes in Plymouth and the prices range from a low of $96,999 for a 1 BR, 1 BA, Condo unit to $2,950,000 for a 2 Story, 6 BR, 9 BA home with 11,717 Finished Sq Feet of living area and over 400 inbetween ready for the right person to enjoy. I'd say there is something for just about everyone. Come visit us and see for  yourself.

Thanks for the comment. It trully is a great place to live. Since we had to come North where it's cold it has turned out to be a really Great place for us and I doubt if we'll ever come back almost to Texas even though we have a good friend who is a real estate broker in Austin. Minnesota should be as careful about their licensed notaries as Tx appears to be.
