Hello Active Rain Community!  I have been listening to the news and mulling over the events of my life now that I have a new baby, and I have decided to write a book.  I am going to call it "The UnAmerican".  I'm trying to decide my story line and from what perspective to write, but this is what it is going to be about...

It seems these days that everyone hates being "American"!  People love the US, but every chance they have they either hate the President, hate policies, hate taxes, hate religion, hate war, hate hate hate. 

Religion has be made into a joke and sadly enough, it's Biblical.  We are going down the path that the Bible dictates!  There is no more God in schools via the pledge of allegiance...no God on coins...nothing.  Everything this country was founded on is being retarded by people that are "UnAmerican".  I bet kids these days don't even KNOW the pledge!  I understand the separation of church and state, but just because God is mentioned doesn't mean people need to throw their hands up in an uproar!  God, whomever your God may be, is comforting to the majority of the people in the WORLD! (And, he/she SOMEtimes gives people a conscience)

Dining rooms are going out of style because people don't have dinner with their families anymore.  You either have parents that are completely uninvolved or too OVERly involved.  People have children they don't want and you see them dancing around with other women in a "Hot Body" contest 5 days after their daughter has gone missing!  These poor, INNOCENT children are paying dearly because of their parents...not only are they not being properly educated, but they don't have manners or know how to treat others!

I went to to the orthodontist the other day and there was a mother sitting beside her child in the ortho chair while he was getting his braces tightened.  I asked the hygenist if that is a regular occurence beacause decades ago when I had braces, my mother didn't follow me into my appointments.  SOME parents are overly involved and this also has a negative affect.  I saw on the news just yesterday where a new parenting tip is to help you kids learn how to fail.  It's OK to fail.  You just try again and work harder next time.  It's OK if you don't make the team...practice more!  (Or maybe you aren't cut out to be a football player)  I don't think every child should "make the team" just because they tried out.  Is that a sense of accomplishment!?

Everyone hates the President, the media is out of control, celebrities have too much say...  I don't agree with everything President Bush has done, but guess what!  I keep it to myself.  He has the toughest job of us all.  I can't IMAGINE what he goes through.  No matter what you say, no one wants the country to go into a recession.  No one WANTS war (but everyone wants freedom).  There is a reaction for every action and sometimes it's not the desired reaction.  He's our President and no matter how good or bad, WE, as a Nation, need to stand behind him.  Also, back in the early 80's, people got mad when oil executives made millions in the US and we wanted MORE oil.  We looked over seas because we would rather have rich sultans than rich cowboys and now we complain we are dependant on foreign oil...but it's OK for Angelina Jolie to get $14 million for pictures of her twins!?  Is something wrong here?  Oh...and Paris Hilton has a presidential ad.  That's hot.

So, right now everything is a hodge podge of ideas with not a lot of direction!  I need more ideas and more direction!  THIS, my fellow friends who have weathered the good, the bad and the ugly in your real estate careers, is why I am reaching out for your guidance!  Oh...and there is definitely going to be a piece in there about the mortgage mess and real estate markets!  That is my specialty! :)  Look forward to hearing your responses!
