ADOPT A HORSE IN LOUDOUN COUNTY VA.

THE ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL IN LOUDOUN COUNTY VIRGINIA offers a few surprises.  Not just the usual dog and cat shelter.  The Loudoun County Animal Care & Control has shelter and adoption services for horses too.  I met the two horses below today, Katori and Emerick.

Horses at Loudoun County Shelter  Shelter at Animal Shelter

  • The facility has a number of sheds like the one above and paddocks for grazing.
  • Loudoun County requires that home owners have 3 acres to house horses.

Strange as it might be I owned a horse in HS in Springfield and we boarded her in Burke where the new library just went up.  Wish I had the time and money to own another one.

I believe it Cindy. Lenn, does Loudoun County require the animals stay in the county?

Cindy.  I remember when Burke was almost all country.  I love the area around Burke Lake.

Craig.  Not that I am aware.  I doubt that they do much hitch hiking.

Lenn, great post.  I like animals and it is good that the local shelter help them when they are in need.  Have you adopted any animals?

Marvin.  Thanks.  The shelter does a good job.  Folks who wish to have a pet should look here first.  Not for me anymore.
