Yesterday morning I came across a rather old post by an old online friend that I thought would be appropriate for sharing with the AR community since we all have our own RSS Feeds.

RSS allows people to subscribe to your blog so that they can receive updates an a feed reader whenever you post a new blog post on Active Rain or perhaps other blogs that you own. RSS Feeds can also be submitted to RSS based directories where people can search on a particular topic and pick up a feed or two to track.

Jason Bartholme created a list of 45 feed directories that you can spend an hour or so submitting your own feed or feeds to. I went through 20 of them myself and found the submissions pretty quick and easy with a few of these sites allowing you to add multiple feeds if you have them and many of them allowing you to add a custom description. Many of them had real estate categories so you should have no problem locating the proper category.

One final note for this week. Jason spent a considerable amount of time researching these directories and no doubt submitting his own RSS feeds to them to make sure they were all working. This kind of research is helpful for many people including you if you take advantage of these free submissions. I noticed that Jason is trying to raise funds to purchase a new laptop and it might be a nice gesture if we as a community contribute back to him a little. Further, I wouldn't put it past him to possibly volunteer to submit your RSS feed to these directories for you if you donate a larger amount of money.

Note: I find a few dozen sites each month to review. However you as the Realtors are the ones who receive all the solicitations from many website owners. Because of this I am inviting anyone curious about a website to send me the website address and any questions you might have. I won't be able to review all links publicly due to only so many Fridays in a year but I will at least review privately and provide information I dig up on the site itself.
