Being mentioned in business publications and blogs is always nice, but nothing equals the sheer joy of having a developer/geek, who's in the know, write about your company in his blog.  Developer/geeks have an uncanny ability to measure the pulse of the up and coming, and I've found that if you can please this sub-sect it's usually a very good indication you are on the right track.

So it is with great excitement that I bring to you Localism's first hard core, non real estate industry related, geek blog write up.  I highly recommend clicking through and reading the complete article.

The following is an except, click here for the full post.

"The ideas i’ve been mulling over, hacking on, and playing with are how to share things i’m personally interested in doing. Places where you see somebody is already sharing, but in a broken way. An example i like is Localism, it’s a real estate website, but instead of sharing property listings, it creates a space for agents to share information about communities. It’s the hidden knowledge that real estate agents have, and creating a site for it helps some agents show off how damned well they know their beat.

Very nice Jonathan! The press is nice and I am sure it helps with exposure coming from someone who has a lot of readership.

Jonathan, definitely a good mention there.  It's nice to be recognized for your vision and I'm looking forward to the benefits that Localism has to bring once it really blows up.

I know my beat...my community.

Good thing I've lived here for many eons...I'm that much more knowledgable :)

Jon - He's right, and not all realtors really know much about the communities they service.

How awesome! I love that Localism is more about people than real estate :) Connecting to neighbors is a lot more fun than most other marketing.

One day we can all look back and say "I was there when Localism was in its infancy".  Good luck with your baby.

Nice mention for Localism! But I'm not sure that Evan gets the vision if he's seeing it only as a "real estate website." Would be interesting to find out how he views the site six months from now.

Although I know it, articles like this have me truly get how innovative and visionary all of you are in what you have(are) creating with AR and with the new Localism.  When I first started out in the business, everyone said you have to really know your community but somewhere along the way, I have been focusing so much on the web that I have gotten out of touch with this.  In sponsoring some communities and reading all there is here on AR about the new Localism, I am present to being really in touch with consumers and providing what they most need and want - to know all they can about where they investing their future - particularly in this market - not just their money but where they will live and raise a family .

I added the link to anarchogeek to my Localism Compendium. I hope it is useful to you. I'll continue to update it every day when i find something new on the net about Localism albeit from Active Rain.  This is a work in progress.

P.s if anyone has any ideas or links that you'd like me to add to that compendium, then please just reply and it'll be added (after review ofcourse)

Keep up the good work Jonathan
