Amazing Active Rain Story! Thank You Active Rain for Web Exposure!

Dear Reader,

It is 3:00pm Saturday afternoon with beautiful weather I might add.  I am in the car with the family as we are heading north to New Hampshire to a family gathering.  On our way to New Hampshire, we stopped by a Wendy's fast food chain to grab a quick 15 minute late lunch.  I know, most of you know, that I dislike fast food but it was our only chance to have a quick lunch.  I gave my order to the gentleman behind the register and I turn around and see a Realtor.  A very well dressed professional looking Realtor by the name of Picture of Real Estate Agent: Gigi Mancini (Weichert Realtors) Gigi Mancini was standing right behind me in line with her Weichert name badge.  I turn to her and with my charming voice I say: "Oh you're a Realtor" and she replies with "Yes I am a Realtor".  I then say, "I am a loan officer" and she then says "I've seen you before on the web, on Active Rain".  I was like wow!  I am not home blogging or commenting or doing anything that has to do with Active Rain and I just met my 2nd Active Rain member in 2 days.  What are the odds of this happening?  I am about 15-20 miles north of where I live and about 30 miles away from my office in Norwalk, Connecticut.  I smile and she miles and we exchange business cards.  I asked her to call me and email me and we should get together soon and she said absolutely.  She had to go on an appointment that she had with one of her home buyers.

After visiting her website http://gigimancini.weichertrp.com/ just moments ago, I am extremely excited that I bumped into Gigi Mancini.  I always look for realtors in every single town because I always get buyers and I enjoy giving out referrals to realtors all over Connecticut including New Haven County

Thank you Active Rain for allowing me to be exposed to thousands of consumers and real estate professionals.

I hope you enjoyed my great Active Rain story as it just happened less than 45 minutes ago.  The power of technology, I got to blog about it and share it with you instantly.

Have a great weekend and maybe I will call some Active Rain New Hampshire members while I am up there on a short stay.

Where have you been, not blogging much lately? March madness or Loans? Nice to see you back.

Enjoy the trip.  With technology today, we have friends across the country.  Wait! ! !   I said that back in 1995.  It just gets better and better.

I like your comment about referrals.  Realtors give a a lot of referrals to loan officers.

AND...wearing our badges ALL the time is very helpful!

Hope you enjoy your weekend in New Hampshire - where in NH are you going?

Nima -- Welcome to NH.  As you can see we have several AR members here.  If you are in the greater Nashua area, please let me know.  It would be great to say hello!

What a great story!!  How awesome that she recognized you.  You'll have to give us an update in about one year from now and tell what kind of business you've generated from your exposure to the site.

03/24/2007 05:41 PM by Amy Laws (Century 21)

Now what are the odds of that happening twice?  Glad to hear you met such a nice lady.  And a great Realtor too!

Great story.

As they say, you have to Network, Network, and keep on Networking.  ActiveRain is a great place to be.

03/24/2007 07:06 PM by Tracy Santrock - Cary NC Real Estate (Fonville Morisey)

I love this! I'm looking forward to the meeting other AR members too. As the numbers increase it'll start happening more and more.

AR just keeps giving and giving...SUCH a great forum!

Have to say others that are trying to compete surely don't come anywhere near the strength of the AR community.

I once met a person from my little home town at Disneyland.  I bet that the odds are much better that I'll meet someone from a community of over 22,000 that someone from a town of 2000.

Cool story, Nima. The stories we keep hearing are inspiring - you just never know when you might meet someone from AR.

Nima - What a great story. I was visiting with Bob Speaker a fellow rainer who is with Keller Williams yesterday about why he always wears his name badge. Here is another example of how that small discipline pays off.

Thank you for sharing this story!

How fun.  Maybe we should come up with an Active Rain member badge and wear it proudly.  See how many members we run into......

03/25/2007 02:11 AM by Heather Saul (Weichert Realtors Hoey Group)

Eric Bouler: I would have to say LOANS!  I was super busy in January and February and I have been back for about a week now.  I was absent or not as active as I wanted to be for 3 months.  I feel as if everyone here forgot about me, but I am back!  THE MARKETING GURU is back!  The Mortgage Man is back!  Eric, you know I am passionate about what I do so I have to be there for my clients/business partners.  Thanks for commenting.

Lenn Harley:  We have friends in towns/cities we have never heard of before, got to love AR !!!

Jacob Morales:  Big time benefits for being a part of this community.  It does not mean that all of your networking and membership just be here as I have recently joined local Chamber of Commerces the past 3-4 months and I have attended lots of networking events as well.  I am not a salesman and never wanted to be a salesman but I have a gift of speaking to persons that I do not know.  Just making good use of that talent.

Jim & Maria Hart:  The beautiful day got colder and colder as we got closer to New Hampshire.  In fact, it snowed about 2-3 inches last night from what I can see from my guest bedroom window.  New Hampshire is just so different from where I live and I totally enjoy my 2-3 times per year trips to see family here.

03/25/2007 07:33 AM by Nima Rezvan (Largest Lender in America)

Oh no!  I just replied to everyone that commented here but it got lost, my braodband connection with the tall New Hampshire trees got lost and my reply to everyone didn't register, ouch!

To answer some of your questions, I am currently in Nashua, New Hampshire!  It is an area where new homes were put up, gigantic homes.  The home I am in is about 5-6,000 sq ft.  6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, etc.

There is about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground.

Thank you everyone for all the kind comments.  Everyone got a personal reply but it didn't register and I lost all of my comments.  Hopefully everyone is enjoying their Sunday and for the ones at public open houses today, good luck!

Ahhh...the benefits of wearing a name badge out in public!! I think I will wear mine all day!

03/25/2007 09:02 AM by Lizette Fitzpatrick, Kentucky Real Estate (Central Kentucky - Prudential Don Foster)

Lizette Fitzpatrick:  I think its one of the best forms of FREE MARKETING and ICE BREAKER.  It gave me the courage to turn to her and say hello.  Then she says that she has seen me before on the Internet/Active Rain.  Wear it all the time.  Never know when your next deal will come from.  It could be while you are waiting in line at a grocery store or while you are having lunch.  You never know!

Some of my close friends make fun of me for wearing it a lot of the time.  They say that I look like a Holiday Inn employee.  That is fine, they can say whatever they want, I will continue wearing it because it works!

03/25/2007 09:07 AM by Nima Rezvan (Largest Lender in America)

Hey Nima - what a great story.  E-networking at its best.  Hope you and Gigi do a ton of work tegether.

03/25/2007 09:40 AM by Nima Rezvan (Largest Lender in America)

Terry Schallert:  I hope so too!  E-networking, there are thousands that don't even know what that means and we here on AR are very lucky.

03/25/2007 09:43 AM by Nima Rezvan (Largest Lender in America)

Nima, congratulations and keep up the connections and the exposure.  I only joined Active Rain on February 12, 2007, about a month and a half of membership. During that time I have sent out 2 referrals across country to Active Rain members and have had an investor find me on Active Rain who is going to be a long-term investor here in Idaho.  He is from neighboring Oregon. When I joined Active Rain I expected to chat with a few people and share some ideas.  I never ever expected to see the results I have seen and it has only been a month and a half!  Good luck to you my friend and have a great day.

Nice coincidence. I guess there are more Active Rainers thatn we know.

George, Tina & Mary thanks for commenting.  This was one of my favorite blogs to write and share with Active Rain.  Look forward to networking more with A/R in the near future.

I just started with Active Rain, and I can't wait for something like that to happen to me.  It pays to wear your name badge everywhere you go doesn't it?

05/02/2007 08:01 AM by Shane Ventura-RealtorĀ® Prudential CT Realty (Prudential Connecticut Realty)

Shane,

Absolutely!  It is a form of FREE ADVERTISING!  People will be curious to know what your name is or where you work.  It is very important to have your name badge on.  Thanks for dropping by and commenting.
