Communicaton - Is it really important?

By
Mortgage and Lending with Fairway Independent Mortgage

If you didn't know the answer YES IT IS!

How many problems do you think would be prevented or minimized if we ALL - Realtors, Mortgage People, Clients, and all other parties - COMMUNICATED?  Remember when you get a phone call return the call and when you get an email return the email.

Something I recommend is revert back to picking up the phone and not relying on email as much.  Relationships are stronger, business will be up, and you are not so tied down to the computer and email.  This is a relationship industry and it is very hard to have a relationship through email.

I wish all out there the best and happy selling!

Remember all clients are looking for 4 key things:

  • COMMUNICATION
  • HONESTY/INTEGRITY
  • FAIR PRICING/COMPETITIVE PRODUCT
  • SMOOTH PROCESS

Ken,

So true !!!! It is so frustrating when a call is not returned or an email.  My wife and I are obsessive regarding return calls and the like - it is the cornerstone of any service industry.  Even wrote What is your return call policy ?   Let me know what you think.

That is a really good post you linked.  There really is very little reason why a phone call can not be returned same day.  Even if you do not have the time to speak to the client at length - call the find out the purpose of the call and set a time the next day to speak to them again.  Its - oh what's the word - RESPECTFUL.  It could probably be called a few other things but end the end its what is right.

Thanks for the comment.

I am not familiar with the "ameridream" program.  As the seller you certainly can pay money towards a buyer's closing costs and money towards down payment so long as you are not going over the max seller concessions.

How does it help you?  By paying closing costs or giving money back to help w/ down payment you may be selling your house rather than waiting for the next person to make an offer.  Would recommend talking to your Realtor though - they could work w/ you on the details specific to your transaction.

Ken, I agree with you... We are in a society that's addicted to email.. Phone communication is always better...

Toronto Mtg. Thanks for the comment - we as mortgage people many times find it so much easier to send a conditions email or a status email rather than calling and talking.  What better time to talk to the client, Realtor and all other parties to ensure you are building relationships.

Good luck to all out there!

Good post!! This is true communication is the key. I am a talker so I still like using the phone, but I also do emails too. I just like communication with a phone best.

   Good luck!

Tinker -

Thanks for the post and like you I am a talker.  Don't get me wrong I do email but I am not relying on that as my crutch.  People so like to hear a voice, and what better time to call as when you are giving an update on the process.

For me right now it is all about building better, stronger, and more productive relationships.
