Unsinkable Spirit Day is coming up August 11, 2008!!!

 
Monday, August 11 is Unsinkable Spirit Day in the Quad Cities!  You can support our community and help area residents impacted by the spring and summer floods by contributing to the Unsinkable Spirit Flood Relief Fund, sponsored by the Quad-City Times, United Way of the Quad-Cities Area and the Quad-Cities River Bandits.  

Businesses that support this effort will be recognized in a full-page thank you ad in the Quad-City Times.

Ways to Help:

 
1. Casual Day for Employees - Join us in a community-wide casual dress work day on Aug. 11.  Ask your employees to participate by donating to the fund.  Casual day stickers will be delivered to your business upon request.

2. Donate a Portion of Your Profits - Support this effort by donating a portion of profits from your Aug. 11 business day.  Join the many businesses that have already made their commitments including: Quad-Cities River Bandits, Lunardi's Italian Restaurant, Quad-City Times, Bass Street Chop House, Zimmerman Cars, Big League Barbers, Done Right Satellite, Slumberland, Midland Information Resources, St. Ambrose University, Rock Valley Physical Therapy, Psychology Health Group, Town News, Bank of the West, United Way, Office Max, Minor League Baseball, K & K Hardware and Wells Fargo.   

3. Cash Donations: If you prefer, charitable cash donations may be made by mailing your check payable to United Way of the Quad-Cities with a notation of "Unsinkable Spirit Fund" in the memo field.  Checks should be sent directly to the Quad-City Times, 500 E. 3rd St., Davenport, IA 52801.
