Plurk is also considered a micro blog platform that allows users to post micro posts of 140 characters or less. Realtor's can also utilize Plurk to further promote their AR posts and even announce a new property placed on the market.
Plurk has a very different layout than Twitter and has different advantages over Twitter. They are:
- See how many people responded directly to each individual micro blog post. You can choose which ones to read based on the conversation that is going on about the post itself.
- Groups Plurk posts so that they are organized. Plurk will identify which specific post someone said, "Nice Website!" to and count that as a comment to that specific post.
Some uses of Plurk for a real estate professionals might include:
- Announcing New Industry news both regional or national.
- Passing a long a lead referral - "I have a client interested in buying a condo in Tampa; any Realtor's interested?"
- Sharing success stories - "I just closed on my second home this month!"
- Discoveries - "I just found this IDX platform, take a look! http://..."
- Open Houses - "Today I'll be at..."
Plurk can become extremely addictive. This is the only drawback other then a small learning curb to get used to their layout. I have friends in the Internet Marketing profession that have been able to attract the attention of MANY superstar marketers through the use of Plurk though so it is a great outlet to stand out in front of other Realtors and real estate professionals.
Today an Active Rain profile was created for Plurk. The purpose of the profile is to share several AR member posts through out each day directly through the AR profile. It is also meant to help real estate professionsals connect and share with other Active Rain Members.
Take the two - three minutes nessessary to create and update your own Plurk account or if you already have a profile visit the AR profile at http://www.plurk.com/user/ActiveRain and add the profile to your Friends.

I find that plurk is quite often very unprofessional. There an aweful lot of goofing around, and I really question the value of this microblogging platform for professional work. It's far more like Myspace than anythign else.
