There probably isn't a busy agent out there who hasn't experienced this at least once...the funny thing is, quite often these folks often resurface in the future, with one explanation or another. People are interesting, to say the least! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Bob, you are right that you have to let go at times, but it is frustrating that clear communication is not what we get always on the receiving end.

I learned to say "next" a long time ago. My ABR Instructor taught me that and it works. Made me much more productive!
They'll show back up... people have lives outside of real estate and don't always keep us updated... don't fret!
Bob, it sounds like the "keep me busy on vacation" syndrome! I get pretty tough with my clients after day two! Talk to me...I say..."are you going to buy a house?" That point blank. Believe me you will know one way or another if you're wasting your time. Sometimes I ask that before we hit the road...especially if I haven't gotten enough information to convince me they are serious yet.
Will I go if they aren't that serious. Nope. I work for a living selling houses. If they aren't buying why should I be there? I discuss the gas prices with them too. I have them review and kick out any houses that they "feel" wouldn't be right. Why go look?
You know, I've learned that July 4, is never a time to show houses. People take that day to dream and let you be their tour guide. If a person really wants to buy a house I don't think they'll wait for a holiday. Stay home, have fun and work smart!

That happens all too often. I guess it is too much for us to expect a courtesy call saying their circumstance has changed to whatever. Best to just move on and not belabor their ignorance, and to me that's just what it is.
I am glad Kansas has a carry and conceal law now for just that situation. I warn them in my buyer's interview, if you don't return my calls, I will freely exercise my right to hunt them down, beat them, and make "Reservoir Dogs" seem like a Barney episode.
Whew......now where is my Zoloft
