You know what is so cool about being in real estate?  The fact that we can be out on a lake, enjoying the weekend with friends, and still be doing business.  The best advice I ever got when I started real estate, was to do the things you like to do, and turn it into prospecting.  No matter what you like to do, you will 99% of the time come in contact with other people, new people.  New people means new friends, which means new prospects!  Don't be afraid to let everyone you meet know what you do!  Sometimes my friends poke fun at me, when they introduce me to new people they will even say, and she will probably ask you if you need any real estate assistance.  :)  They think its funny, I think its great!!  Cause you never know, and it means I am doing my job!  You can bet that if any of my friends ever hear someone talking about needing an agent, they will mention me first!!  So next time you go hiking, bowling, to the bar, or wherever you like to spend time, take some cards with you, and have them handy!!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful and BUSY weekend!!

I have met most of the referral partners I work with in settings that had nothing to do with real estate or mortgage lending.  Thanks for the post and the reminder to keep business cards on hand at all times.

If your are a "stealth" professional, then you probably won't get as much business.  Being visible and secondly being a real person (approachable in a non business setting) will make it easier for people to do business with you when they are ready. ~Evelyn

I agree totally. The plus is the people you meet (future clients) will enjoy the same things you do. So you have things to discuss besides houses while driving to see the homes. Plus you might make some new friends!

Thanks for the reminder that it's important "to ask".    If you don't, how can there be an answer?
