Alternative Housing Options in South Mississippi
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency will start holding meetings next week to introduce a new program in the southern coastal counties. This is a program that is funded for the next 24 months by the Mississippi Alternative Housing Program. This experimantal program will allow for 4,000 to 6,000 structures to be built on existing lots so that people can get out of FEMA trailers. I think that we can all agree with hurricane season fast approaching, we should be doing all that we can to help people be safe. The hope is that after the 24 months, these structures will be sold and used as permanent homes. This is good news to Realtors in South Mississippi. They housing market may be cooling in other markets, but is still very hot in South Mississippi.
