Udora's Camp Jõekääru is the place to be on August 23/24 if you are a Jazz fan.

In the early 1950’s the Independent Toronto Estonian Women’s Association purchased land in the north-west side of Udora. The property was then divided into lots for summer cottages for Estonians living in Toronto. The name Jõekääru translated into English is River Bend as the Pefferlaw River runs through the grounds. With the cottages came the Estonian Children's Camp. Last years JK Jazz festival raised funds to replace the windows in the boys and girls camp buildings providing enhanced ventalation for the camp attendees.

Come and enjoy a great summer evening of Jazz with performers coming from Canada, Estonia, Latvia, Brazil, Cuba and Mexico. Also featured this year is an art exibit and sale in the newly completed Timmas Art Studio, with a portion of the proceeds directed to the camps infrastructure fund.

The doors open on Saturday August 23rd at 12 noon. Entertainment starts at 1pm with the headliners hitting the stage at 3pm. Sunday August 24th  the doors open at 10am with entertainment from 11am. Adult admission is $25 during the advance sale campaign ($35 at the gate). Youth tickets (for those aged 5-18) are $15 and will only be sold at the gate

Sponsored by The National Estonian Foundation of Canada! JK JAZZ 2008 is also supported as an official event by the town of Georgina.

That sounds like fun..  I wish New Brunswick had more multiculturalism events.  They had a Greek festival this year, but that's about it.  Next year, I would love to visit Ontario, especially the Toronto area.
