We know we are early, but we got our hands on a pre-edition of the National Geographic Adventure Magazine that won't hit the stands for several weeks and couldn't wait to share something we all know. Chattanooga is one of the "50 Next Great Towns" for 2008. This is an annual publication from NGAM, and this year Chattanooga made the list, with no surprise to most of us in The Scenic City.
One only has to make a visit to Chattanooga to realize that there is not a more beautiful place to work, eat and live. Our city sits right on the Tennessee River and there is so much to do in and around our "Scenic City".
Below you will find the article's story from Cathi Cannon, in her own words as a new transplant to Chattanooga.

This issue is a yearly one for National Geographic Adventure. It also seems like some fun research on the part of the authors Sarah Tuff and Greg Melville. Here is what they said and how they introduced this 10 page article:
"Best Places - A change of address can bring instant gratification. You could wake up tomorrow in Missoula and kayak off your own deck at dawn, sneak in singletrack at lunch in Chattanooga - or choose your own adventure in any one of the country's best base camps. But a move is a long-term investment. So this year we selected 50 innovative towns that aren't just prime relocation spots right now, but smart choices for the future. Not only do they have the action, They've got a plan. Now we're giving you a plan too. Inside, you'll find hometown picks that range from adventure 24/7 hubs loaded with outdoor options to urban players that offer a variety of jobs and cultural activities without sacrificing green space. You'll also hear from recent transplants who made the move and have a better quality of life to show for it. So go on- get packing."
My hat is off to NGAM for discovering all that Chattanooga, our Scenic City, has to offer. I've always said, it's the best place in the world to live.
David,
Well written. I submitted a post on the same news. I have linked your post to mine.
Chattanooga keeps bringing in the recognitions.
