Do you miss those homemade breakfasts that you used to get when you go out to restaurants? They are back, and can be found at the restaurant Michell's On Main, in Cromwell, CT. They have been open for a while now, and I have been in there a few times for breakfast. Being that my office at Johnson Real Estate is almost right next door it is convenient. Yes, I do walk there. This way I can say I am staying in shape.. LOL.
They have 3 other restaurants in Connecticut. Two are in Rocky Hill, one is on the Sileas Dean Highway which was the first to open up in 1965. The other is located down by the ferry that takes you over to Glastonbury. If you live in Vernon, you are in luck, the 3rd one is located in this town. But I think the best one is located here in Cromwell, CT.
I've tried a few of their breakfasts, but my favorite one (at the moment) is the strawberry and banana pancakes. Hmmm. Their eggs and spuds with 5 varieties of breads is also a good choice in the morning.
For lunch they have homemade veggie & cheese wraps, along with a selection of soups. Ok, I'm getting hungry now...
They are open 7 days a week... Monday through Saturday from 6am to 2pm and Sundays from 7am to 2pm.
If you are in the vacinity, I would suggest you check them out.

Valerie - You're making me hungry... Those pancakes sound great! I really love breakfast foods... :)
Debi.. This restaurant has even homemade breads to bring home. The good thing is that it is maybe 100 feet from my office. The bad thing is that it is only 100 feet from my office. LOL.
Valerie, Moma Rioux (I think I speld that right) use to be located there, and she made a great breakfast, I was really sorry when she closed down. I have not tried Mitchells yet, but maybe I will give them a try on the weekend.
Don't you just love homemade?!?!?! So many restaurants have gotten away from homemade anything. You are lucky to have them next door...
George... Mitchell's blow Moma Rioux out of the water.. there is no comparison.
Teresa. Yes, I am glad to have them next door, but I wish they weren't next door...if you know what I mean.
Valerie, glad to hear that because I thought her's was pretty good. Now I really have to try it :)
George.. I went to Mama Rioux twice. First time to try it out.. the second to give it another shot. Never went back again. Mitchell's I have been to at least a dozen times since the beginning of summer alone.
Valerie - LOL! I know exactly what you mean. Bread is definitely my weakness. Mmmmmmm! Especially homemade! :)
Debi.. The last few times I've been they have had at least 3 different kinds of bread.. Rye, banana, and pumpkin. I made the effort to come home for lunch today... I think they have a table there with my name on it. LOL.
