The Mt. Washington Valley is a popular vacation destination.  Surrounded by 750,000 acres of the White Mountain National Forest and set at the base of Mt. Washington (the highest peak in the Northeast) the Valley is just 2-1/2 hours from Boston.  But did you know that this tourist community is also a great place to live, work and raise a family?

The Valley's largest industry is tourist-related.  Hospitality, shopping, and outdoor recreation are high on the list.  The natural beauty of the area is a lure for active and health-conscious people.  Choices of outdoor recreation are endless; canoeing, hiking, camping, swimming to name a few.

We are truly a four-season mecca here in the white mountains.  During the spring, the mountains burst into life!  The rivers swell from the melting snow, the meadows slowly go from brown to green, and people come out from their winter hiatus.  Summer is hot in the valley...lazy days spent wandering through antique shops to the local rivers and streams to cool off.  By autumn, the beauty of the area is in full color with the advent of "leaf peeping".  Winter time brings the snow covered mountains to the forefront! With seven downhill ski areas and numerous ice skating, winter fun is plentiful.
