I was wondering the luck anyone has had using lead generating services like Service Magic? I was particular curious of home inspectors that might of used this service or another like it.In my area like most, it is slower than we would like it to be and are looking for every contact possible. I thank anyone in advance for any info that they might pass along.

You are the best lead generating service money can buy, Spend two hours every day going out and introducing your self to Loan officers and Realtor,Lawyers, There is no fee to be paid just the cost of your fuel.You will see over time this works best.If you are looking for a partner then you can go with a lead generating service or you might want to think about a franchise.
Thanks for the good advice Peter that is certainty worth putting some time into. I have been doing that, but on a lesser scale. Agents around here are hard to break into.
I wish Service Magic would leave me alone.
In my opinion it is people looking for a cheap inspection.
They call at least once a month and I'm tired of telling them there is no interest on my part .
I concur with Peter and I believe we are the best marketing and advertising around.
A home inspector associate of mine in Arizona is doing 600 inspections per year.

I used Service Magic for several months with mixed results. It kinda reminded me of the old yellow page days. Price shoppers, Other home inspectors. It's OK and I didn't have any regrets. Just felt like my efforts and time was better spent like Gary above says marketing myself, networking. It's far more permanent and build a strong foundation that continues to bring returns even if you slack off. If you have'nt heard about Send-Out-Cards you I recommend you check it out. It's Free to try with no strings attached. It is the most remarkable system I've ever used when it comes to relationship and refferal marketing. I use it for agents and customers. I've also started using it to market to builders warrenty and new lisitng inspections with good returns. I usually spend about $150 a month and get 4-6 " new "found" inspections. I heard about SOC's from a successful inspection firm out of Texas. Figured I'd give it a go...wow! I wished I new about this sooner. I believe in it so much that I joined as an affiliate. I also wrote a couple of blog entries.

Your welcome Gary, If you decide to give SOC a whirl I can give you lots of good Home Inspector ideas and support that will have your phone ringing. Here's some cards samples I've done, but they also have 12,000 stock cards to pick from. I prefer sending a custom card with photo or brownies because it has a huge and lasting impact. Then I just put my clients and agents on a birthday card and keeping in touch campaign for 3 years. Just remember, for every 1 person that you influence, you impact on average 250 others. That's a scientific fact. Remember, you're not a home inspector, you're a relationship engineer. :) We just do home inspections for fun!

I try Service Magic for about 4 months, in that time I got one lead and it was a bad one. So in the end I paid 99 dollars to join and 12 dollars for the bad lead. I hope this help you.
I have had all kinds of internet advertisers and search engines ranking company’s, calling on me. It seams like when you tell one no, they pass you to the next one, and then it is there turn to see if they can get you to sign up, with something that is going to bring you more jobs than you can deal with. The other statement is that how many inspections do you have to do to pay for this advertisement? I have been very strong and told them all that I would have to get back with them. I signed up for Service Magic. So far the only people who contacted me were people who needed engineers and a local competitor who was trying to find out how much I charged. Each cost me $18. Also Service Magic somehow attached itself to my google account and put their number as the number to call to get a quote from me. I tried to remove it, but I can't find how they got it to post like that to begin with.
I have personally never heard of a good lead provider. There's alawys some catch, or you pay and get crappy leads (price shoppers).

Everything I've heard about them, has been all bad. They call me at least 2 times a week on my office, 2 times a week on my cell phone, and e-mail me 5 days a week. All this even after I have told them I do not want to use them, and have ask them not to contact me anymore. This has been going on for a year now. I'm just about ready to take them to court over it.
