The 70K Mansion Part 2!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Greenville Central

I'm tooting the horn loud. After tooling around in the most interesting parts of Greenville I never knew existed we found the 70K mansion my folks were looking for! 64.9K! Under 5 years old a 3/2 forclosure in a decent area. Of course it was the last house!

I do have to share the experience though. One house we visited I'm thinking of picking up as an investment property. Its a 3/2 2 car garage under 10 years old in a very nice neighborhood. It does have some mold and I have no experience with that. But it's all confined to a bathroom which obviously had a leak. It's a slab foundation on a really nice lot. Yeah it's the one with the pink kitchen and rasberry carpet throughout! Will give it some thought if anyone has any mold suggestions.

On the trip the granddaughter was with us, she's 10. She was overly distraught at one vacant property which had at one time had a really nice koi pond in the front yard. Needless to say there's about an inch of water in the pool and the koi fighting for their lives. It was sad. Sadder still was the plethora of VERY bright wallpaper throughout the house. One had small checkers black and white with a crazy colored border. Would be a great home if you were a stoner or on some other illegal substance. Made my eyes cross.

But the gem was the 64.9 forclosure home. We've put an offer in on it. I was really discouraged that we wouldn't find anything. I try not to be discriminating with the areas but we all know the reality of this price piont. So in only spending a day and walking away with my bread and butter contract, I'm pleased...for them and that I don't have to do it again tomorrow... Tomorrow is 130K! LOL

Maybe if we all start at the bottom and work our way up again it will give the markets time to correct.

Happy Selling!

Holly, please tell me you added water to the Koi pond! No wonder she was in distress...I would not be able to walk away from little ones that were dieing! Lie to me. Tell me you filled the pond! I'll feel better and congratulations on the home find...it sounds like a great one! Good luck tomorrow too.

Holly, several years ago I showed a home where the sellers had left a beautiful little fish in a fish bowl on the kitchen counter.  The water was rancid and the little fellow was just barely moving. I called the listing agent and told them to take care of it.  How awful that people can do those things to helpless animals.
