BLACK AND WHITE VS TECHNICOLOR

I confess to seeking to get my ears tickled this morning.  Mea culpa, mea culpa.  A while back I wrote about having found my church home and driving 45 miles each way to get there.  Today I got lazy and decided to sleep in a little (I'm blushing)  and visit a local, closer church.

I told myself that it wouldn't matter this once, after all, pastor was attending a meeting in Arizona.
Who would know?.................God knew, and I did too.

lightningNow don't get me wrong.  It is a nice church.  Nice friendly people and they were all bible believers, with good bible preaching.  We sang three songs, took up the collection, and the minister preached.

I went home empty, couldn't remember a thing that was preached.  It was like watching black and white television after seeing HD Color.

I'm wanting more.  There is more to God than that.  HE wants us to know HIM!  Really, really know HIM.  FEEL HIM.  BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT.  SOAK IN HIS PRESENCE!  I'M HUNGRY LORD.  I WANT MORE OF YOU.

There is a moral to this story.  I realize it was good for me to see that there are alot of churches and christians out there who have no idea of the feast they could be having.  I need to pray more for them to seek HIS Spirit, and for The Holy Spirit to knock their socks off and eliminate the tepid believers.

I am glad to hear that Joan...the fellowship you have at your church is so important......

Wow...I can't ever say that enough.....

thanx Alex, but it wasn't the fellowship at church I missed.  It was feeling that the Spirit wasn't moving in the church I attended.  That was sad, not just for me, but for the church members who didn't know what they were missing.  Like how can you describe fried chicken to someone who has only eaten rice all their life?
