A wonderful weekend drive. Well, I didn't start quite from Ashville, slightly south, Spartanburg to be exact. My point is, that I couldn't believe the beautiful drive on Route 40. This was the first time to experience a drive on this roadway. The hills and mountains and all the curves, WOW!!! The weather was lovely and I was taking my time and enjoying every mile of newly discovered territory.  I believe the only thing that could make this more lovely would be to drive it in the the height of Fall when all the foilage is turning color. It's got to be awesome. Just wanted to share this with others, so if your planning a weekend venture this is one to be considered. And of course.... you can always lay over at the Grand Old Opry Hotel!!!!!

Nance...sounds great! We are off to North Carolina on Sunday for a couple days away...and somewhat of a planning retreat to get things "recharged" for the rest of the year. We always watch for a neat stream (creek) pull off and just chill, enjoying the sounds of nature. We are taking a different route this time, maybe a road less traveled, and planning a picnic lunch for the ride up!

We have such beauty so close to Atlanta, and take it for granted! It could be burning up like other parts of the country!

Nace, we made that trip a few year back. We started at the Biltmore and did end up at the Opryland Hotel. It was a great trip. Anyone who hasn't done it, I would highly recommend it. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
