This post was inspired by a post Teri Ellis wrote yesterday on a couple of new search sites. One of those she mentioned was SearchMe. SearchME is a visual search site, still in beta. I signed up to help beta test it, basically just offering suggestions.
Before I go any further, go to SearchMe and type in your name. Go ahead I will wait...........
I wanted you to see a visual so you can understand the rest of the post and how you can use it in your pre-listing presentations and in communicating with your Sphere of Influence to get more readers to you blog.
There is a feature on SearchME that allows you to Stack all the web-sites you are on, and blogs you write. You can create different stacks for different searches and save them.
One of the challenges in the MakeOver2TakeOver contest was creating and sending out a electronic pre-listing questionaire. I was already doing this and it was not a hard challenge for me to help Kim, my apprentice.
Now throught the Stack feature on SearchMe, I have found a really cool feature to add to that Pre-Listing Electronic Package.
If you were a seller, wouldn't you love to see where the Realtor you are going to hire is "all over the web"? Now they have 32 pages of sites that either you own or are actively mentioned in. Just email it to them, along with your Pre-Listing Package, easy as 1-2-3.
SearchMe already has a PR (page rank of 6) and it is still in beta. Once you have created you stacks or many of your sites, you can go back and delete pages, add pages, save, copy or whatever. You could also use this for saving your online newspapers you read, blogs you read, travel plans, the possibilities are endless. You can also SearchMe for your town, other Realtors you are competing with but I wanted you to just get started with your name.
You can SearchMe for just your blogs and email the Stack out to your Sphere of Influence and hopefully get more of them reading your blogs.
Here is a video that will walk your through the process, it is easy but I suggest you watch the 2 minute video.
Missy, I went to check out SearchMe on the links that you provided and it's really a neat application and something worthwhile for sending out to clients and potential clients. Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention.
Missy - GREAT info. I'm going to see if I can narrow down me a little more. I put Mary Warren in and of course came up with a witch burned at the stake in Salem MA to start. I don't want to have that come up first for prospect clients....HA.
I like the screen presence, very cool. It reminds me of the HP commercial on TV; just needs the "laaa, la la la la" music in the background!
Question: I would love it if it would show realtor.com; yahoo.com, homegain.com with pictures of the homes we have listed to show the clients THEIR potential exposure. Right now, I use a binder and have printed all the websites (with a sample listing I had) where they will be; it has been highly effective.
Susie, of course I read your comments. You must feel I don't respond. I do when I can add to the dialog. As you can see from most of the comments above I can't really add to the conversation so I don't comment back. Too much time, just to say, "thanks for stopping by or glad it helped."
Cindy, I didn't so any big sites but will check them out. Since it is in Beta they will add more cool features, I'm sure.
Missy - very cool. I can see all sorts of possiblities for using this, both pre-listing and during the chat with potential sellers. Seems pretty easy to use but I could easily get bogged down in playing with it. Bookmarked to reveiw again and watach the video. Thanks for the creative thinking.
I don't know how you find the time to find all of these ultra cool tools, but I am grateful you do. Now my wheels are spinning on how to get buyers this "package" of articles that I've written specifically for buyers.
Missy, That is just fascinating. Now I can find all those networks I joined. To be honest I was starting to forget how many and which networks I had joined over the years. LOL Thank you my Widggy ;0)
Missy, I love it. This would work great as an intro to realtors and clients for me. If possible, I can also see using this to send a packet of forms and then have the client ID what forms they wanted to print, etc. AJ
Missy, you never cease to amaze me! I love the idea of sending the stacks to my clients and showing them where you are online, but we can also send them stacks of where their listings are! Briliant!
Missy, This is a neat tool....now, to add it to my list of must do's. Can't we all just hire you to do all of this for us? You are So good at it! Time to retire from Real estate and hit the web, lol! You are always such a great source for very useful information and I really appreciate it.
Missy~ I have gotten the invite to test the beta version, but haven't looked into it too much. I do like the way you're using the tool though for your listing presentaions, very nice! A nice little tip, thanks!
Thanks Missy - I agree with Cindy - some of the bigger sites would add to the online presence. As always, thanks for finding this and sharing - and improving by being on the Beta.
Just tried it for the second time, and it gave me results for everyone named Kris (even though I narrowed it down to real estate.) Wish I could figure out how to delete what I don't want in my stack. The visual presentation though is fun to watch!
This is a very exciting tool. I am glad that you can edit the "stream" - just need to play with it. The third "shot" for me was a porn site - made me laugh!! This is a lot easier than the copy the link process I am using. Thanks
Pretty neat. It looks really nice. I'll have to fool around with it. I'd like to use it to show one specific listing and how it shows up in all the different places.
Missy, my google alert showed me this great post. Wonderful information about being able to stack your "stuff" and share it. I'll want to utilize that myself....;-)
Missy, I just watched the video....how awesome to be able to add the "stack" as an email or to our blogs...or??? This is definitely a "must" for me. Thanks for sharing the good stuff!!! ;-)
Missy, This looks pretty interesting, although when I clicked your link, I got a bunch of other agent's information - I'll have to sit down with my wired young friend, Catarina Bannier, to figure out using it to store a pre-listing package.
Since I like to emphasize my internet presence to my potential clients, this will be a most impressive presentation. I also email links for my clients to check out, this will sure replace that habit. Thank you for sharing Missy. (and you don't have to respond for me) ; )
Pat, I checked the link and there are 32 pages, there are some sites included where people have blogged on me, or I have been linked to their sites. But, they are all valid. You of course can't delete any pages you don't want, but it is best to just not add them into your stack since you drag and drop.
Missy, I have been looking forward to this post...I love this!!! The video is a great help. Thanks for taking the time to pull it all together for us. You are awesome!
well this is very cool. yep, I actually looked at it. looks like it will take a little time well spent to weed through it to delete the pages that have the same name, but are not us. Once done, nobody up here will have anything like it.
The idea of "showing" them where we are, instead of telling them is cool beyond words.
Missy - very cool - thank you. I tried it with my first and last, and got all kinds of stuff that wasn't me and some wasn't very pretty. So I tried it again with " " around my name and got some stuff that was me!
Hi Missy - Thanks so much for sharing this. I played with it a little bit, and will definitely go back and put it to good use for my listing presentations.
This looks to be a lot more user-friendly and interactive than a list of links. I can see this being great for pre-listing, marketing, relo ... and can't wait to try it out on blogs and Facebook. Great find, Missy!!
Missy, I will look into this! It sounds interesting. I am always trying to get the point across that I am Internet savvy and that they can find me all over! Thanks for the pointer!
POWERFUL stuff. I was very impressed that our *new* Localism pages show up on SearchMe. Even though that site has not released to the public, it was picked up by this beta site.
HELP, I need a favor. In your spare time :-), would you please go on my facebook site and tell me what I did wrong, and more importantly,EXACTLY what stepsI take to add a blog from AR to FB? I'm trying to add, http://activerain.com/blogsview/621041/Katy-TX-Where-Money. I have spent 2 hours trying to figure it out on my own to no avail.
I would really appreciate it, just put it on the post or e-mail me, whatever is easier for you. Thanks, Liz
Thanks for waiting while I clicked on over to look...very interesting. I'll have to try to figure out how to do my own stack.
In the past I used Broker Bryant's suggestion and when I'm a little short of time and ask clients to Google my name and their city to see what I've been doing in their neck of the woods.
Hi Missy...You folks almost make me feel like I'm living in the 21st century/ I'm still struggling to catch up.) You sure try hard to share your knowledge. This looks like fun and its very helpful also.
Missy, what an amazing tool this is. I love the idea of using it in pre-listing presentations. I started playing with it, but now need to save some stacks. thanks for sharing!!!!
Missy, it is great to have smart people like you out there finding more and more things that I "should" be doing. The list is getting really, really long. I appreciate you!
I am having trouble finding anything about me and I've tried narrowing down several ways.....I'm not smart about such things so if anybody has any ideas I sure would appreciate the help.
Ann, your name is sorta common so it might be bringing up other Ann Allens, try putting quotes around your name with Realtor in your city behind it. Also the more you blog the higher you will come up in the Search Engines. Keep checking they are indexing more every day.
Missy.... wow... that's about all that I can say for now.. lol I can't keep up. How do you do it? I still need to get with the basics... facebook, linkedIn, tweeter.... thanks for sharing this.
Hi Missy, I will admit that when I went there , I was impressed. I like your ideas on how to use this and it will probably become a very valuable asset. Still experimenting but I wanted to thank you for the great reference to this. Most I do here on ActiveRain, I learned here on ActiveRain. I wish I could find some valuable resource to share with everyone that someone hadn't already to thought to post on,lol.
Missy- And I was just getting used to google notebook to save news articles, etc. I will have to do this soon. THanks for sharing this site! It really is neat!
Thanks for another informative post. I have bookmarked this, and will see if I can't figure out how to stack my sites and blogs together in one nice package.
Thank you for the valuable information! I went and played around with the site a bit and created a stack of my pages. I can send it to potential clients to show them my web presence!
Missy......BEWARE OF SEARCHME!!!!! Here's my point!
I have no idea how, but the 3rd page that comes up when you search "thomandrayteam" is a not so pretty sex site! At least after clicking through to it once, the XXXX pictures disappeared from the front page on SearchME...but, there is still a page there. If you click on it, there are litterly THOUSANDS of website addresses listed there....some type of scam or something. I have to contact my web site provider and see if they can help me. If not, I would never want my clients to search for me on this site.
Just saying....make sure you know what is there before you ever send your clients searching on SearchMe!!
SearchMe is a really cool tool. I never thought about using it as a Pre-Listing Electronic Package-Brilliant. Thanks for sharing Missy. And thank you very much for making a comment on my Yelp Blog.
This is terrific stuff Missy! Thank you for sharing this! though I was disappointed at my results - an old blog someone else wrote over a year ago has outranked me for a certain term and that's just not right.
