Your Strength is Found in YOU

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Funny FaceI cannot tell you how many first year Realtors or first year anybodys in many professions keep trying to be like someone else. It is such a HUGE mistake!! Our individuality is the key to our being the best we can be.

Your Strength is Found in YOU.

Can we have mentors? Why not. But don't use them as a crutch. Don't copy someone else entirely. I've always found the best mentor for you is: YOU. They broke the mold when you came along. It is indeed true for all of us. CELEBRATE that you are different from everyone else. Remind yourself this is a good thing. Tell others that, well, "this is the way you are. This is how you were built." Remember that our collective diversity makes us all better.

I give you a little of my strengths. You let me have the blessing of a little of your strengths. TOGETHER we make it through our jobs, our situations, our lives.

Honor the "uniqueness" that is you. Don't say you are sorry that maybe you are not as good at details as say Mary over there is. Maybe you can run circles around Mary as far as keeping her spirits up all day. Maybe Mary can put you to shame in organizing files. We need to learn to be ourselves.

You know why? Our BEST self is ourself. Copying someone else's personality maybe you think is the highest form of flattery. The Broker is loud. You are loud. But you do the world a great disservice with that style of living. Instead be of great service by each and every day getting up and being YOU.

Be Yourself. That's who the world NEEDS more than anyone else. Trust me, that guy in the mirror tells me that EVERY DAY : )

Dan: I appreciate you too Dan. I'd tell you not to work so hard but I know that is what you are doing right now in this phase of your life, so hang in there.

Carol: I laugh at almost the entire lines of the script, that's why I have to toss it. I think you've got it in being natural.

Don: Putting your own stamp on it is where it is at. Very good thought.

Marchel: I always call that getting comfortable in our own skin.

Elizabeth: All words of tremendous wisdom from a Master. Speaking the truth is always a good use of your energy too.

Pam: You are too sweet. The check's in the mail. Our best selves though is what we all should keep shooting for.

Lynda: My internal alter ego will just not let me take myself or life too seriously. Now if the mirror is "talking" to me and I hear voices, I may have other problems LOL. I hope you are doing well.

This is such wise advice and this is actually something my mentor told me. He said "It is good to learn from me and let me motivate you, but you can never be me as you haven't had the same life experiences as I have. So take you experiences and let them make you everything you can be and I will stand behind you if you should stumble"

Gary:  Being yourself is critical in a job like this.  Our clients need to have a sense that they know us, and can trust us.  If we are not being honst about who we are, we're likely to give our clients a squirmy feeling.

Todd: Very good thoughts to go with your own life experiences. We all travel a very unique road.

Jennifer: Appreciating yourself shows very high self esteem. Extremely good character trait to have.

Chris Ann: A solid idea of who you are to your clients is something that makes them trust you I agree.

Gary:  I looked into the mirror a couple of times today because I was cleaning my home.  Not because I was being vain or anything.  I really don't recognize that person anymore.  LOL!!  But, you are correct... I try!

Great advice Gary, I also believe it takes a "team" and every one is responsible if there are challenges and everyone is to receive KUDOS if things go well. No one makes another person do anything without agreement. If you don't agree, say "no." If you do...stand behind your beliefs no matter what! Thanks for the insight. Later in the rain~Deb
