In my usual daily jaunt around the internet today, I came across a Blog entitled, Beetles' Memories 'n' Ramblings. This is one of a multitude of blogs that contribute personal perspectives to everything from travel to technology...to Meme's. I think that as much as the Meme's may grow on us like a fungus, they really do help to foster a connection and deeper understanding among people from all parts of the world.

Now you may think this type of connection and understanding is best left for a social networking site like Facebook or MySpace. I could not disagree more! Many times it is this personal connection that will set you apart from others in the blogosphere, and the real estate industry. In fact, a recent post by Debbie Malone reveals how her West Highland White Terrier named Duncan was the reason she was contacted by a client! While there is no right or wrong way to use this forum, as long as you abide by the Active Rain guidelines, your distinctive way of using it may be just the thing to bring you a client!

My thinking on this topic actually began yesterday because of a post by Jennifer Dahl entitled FREE WEBSITE....DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH YOURS...HERE'S WHAT I DID WITH MINE. In her post Jennifer is touting the benefits she sees in personal blogs. I have also noticed a considerable increase in the number of commentors on my Active Rain posts who are not members of Active Rain. I welcome this new development! I would like to think that it as a combination of my professionalism, my knowledge of the Knoxville, Tennessee area, my personality, and my efforts in the form of comments on many other blogsites with backlinks that can be followed to Active Rain.

Now in honor of Beetle, who is not a member of Active Rain and may never be aware of this post, I initiate a new round of the Meme...Beetle style!

If you had to select celebrities/actors to play the parts in the story of your life today (including yourself!), who would it be and why - this can be based on looks or personality. You can be witty or vain or ironic, just be you!

Playing me would be Neil Patrick Harris! His role as Doogie Howser, M.D. showed an intelligent thinking person. While his role as Barney on How I Met Your Mother presents quite the opposite character type. His fun loving, carpe diem attitude makes people laugh (or at least smile on the inside). These two would have to combine to show an intelligent (not doctor smart by any means) but outrageous personality. Of course I do not physically resemble Harris at all!

Playing my business partner Danny Tornton would have to be George Lopez. He doesn't look like Lopez at all but he has that hysterical sense of humor that can't help but make you laugh. You would also have to throw in the dancing skills of Bill Cosby, remember the dancing intro to the Cosby Show

I use just the two of us as we are the only ones anyone on Active Rain would be familiar with because I don't write about my family or friends! Any scene would definitely be quite funny with this combination of personalities. Might be something akin to an English comdey skit or Mad TV. There would be plenty of irreverent humor with a side of seriousness.

See now that wasn't so bad, but I am glad it is over! Now who would you choose to play you and your co-workers, family members, and AR buddies? Time to give it up and let loose the players...the Beetle is loose and heading your way (and there is no bug spray to help you escape it)!
