The State of Washington has released a photo, shall we say publicity photo, of the new home inspector licensing advisory board. The board is pictured with State Senator Harriet Spanel, who worked for years to get home inspector legislation passed. She said, speaking to the board, that it was one of the most controversial bills she has ever worked on. This was taken at the first meeting, in early August.

The legend for the photo follows, starting at the left.

Stephen Cancler, Full House Inspection Services, Seattle

Steven L. Smith, Bellingham Technical College, King of the House Home Inspection, Bellingham

Bruce MacIntosh, Centennial Home Inspection Services, Woodinville

Senator Spanel, Bellingham

Michael O' Handley, Kenmore Residential Services and TIJ (The Inspector's Journal), Kenmore

William Myer, Inland Home Inspections, Spokane

Deb Wennemen, Dakota Home Inspections, Vashon

David Pioli, P.E., Criterium-Pioli Engineers, Bothell

Well Liz,

Not sure if that is impressive or not. Maybe I don't have much worthwhile to say, but I say it a lot.

Steve,

Very impressive that Washington actually let that many inspectors onto the licensing board to help make decisions. I don't think Ohio even considered having home inspectors on the board.

I spend about two days a month in Pt Roberts. Most of it is out of cell contact so I get away from charlie b harassing me.

Could be Steven, I'm not really too sure. I know there has been a lot of bickering about it in this state for over 4 years now.
