It is very important who we surround ourselves with.  If we are constantly around negative people who are always fussing and complaining and continuously focusing on all the bad things in their life, eventually we will start to act that way. It is very hard to remain positive in a consistently negative environment.

We need to make an effort to surround ourselves with people who are positive and hopeful. We need to be around people who will encourage us and challenge us to excel in everything we do. We need to get close to people who are always looking at the bright things in life instead of always seeing what's wrong. We would be amazed at how much better we would feel if we could try to find people who speak life into us instead of always trying to tear us down.

It is possible to be happy every day and enjoy life, but we must start choosing our company very carefully. If we spend the majority of our time around happy, positive people, we will have a lot more strength to handle those who are not so happy.

It really is a shame when you watch the news.  To this day I personally don't know anyone who was foreclosed upon.

I love your positive post but I believe the negativity will continue through November's election. We are the only ones responsible for having a great and positive day for ourselves...

There truly are some sad situations going on around us.  Of course the housing mess is one of them.  But in the end they are just things.  I hope people see that the world isn't ending.

And just a side bar.  All this negativity is created by people that have the most to lose or profit, which ever the case may be.  The media needs doom and gloom to prosper and the banks don't want to lose previous gains made by their actions.  I bet 2 nickels that the banks will be doing 100% loans in 6 months to a year.

Connie,

I've only been a member since last week and have noticed that I seem to find my way to one of your blogs everyday.  Thank you for the words of encouragement and giving some perspective.  Keep it going.

I have found lately I have to take a new break.  I simply don't watch TV or listen to the news for an entire day.  It is good to focus on the positive and nuturing.

Connie great message to live by. Over the past year I have followed this and transformed my life personally and professionally. Its amazing how much a negative person can drag and wear you down.
