Spammed on AR!

Can anyone tell me if there is a "Report Spam" button on Active Rain?

As an AR & blogging newbie, it really didn't cross my mind that spammers such as the famous UK-originated scams would come through the Active Rain contact channels.

Just received one titled - Contact from Thompson: investment, - claiming a lady has twenty-eight million to invest.

Great! I'll just send them my bank account information, along with my social security number. :)

If you know how to keep spammers out of Active Rain, please share!

Lynn, Spam Spam Spam Spam. Spam Spam Spam Spam. Gosh! You can't even keep the Spam out of the comments. Gosh Darn!

I just got spammed for the first time today, here on AR. Yes there is a Spam button right next to the delete comment button in the comment section.

Lets hope it doesn't turn into Spam-a-lot around here.

I see this 'Report as Spam' button here in the blog comments, but not in the "my home" comments section where the "contact" notice occurred.

I hope not to need to use it, but thanks for posting this---now I know there is a way to report it.

Lynn, you can contact AR staff and let them know what happened to you. I don't believe there is something they can do to stop it but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I invited a new member and she is getting spammed like crazy. I reported to AR for her but haven't heard back yet. I'm thinking there is nothing they can do :(

I've only gotten spammed 2 or 3 times before it stopped. Hopefully the guys in charge can stop this from happening as often as it does.

I got spammed yesterday for the first time, and it was also a "contact" in the "My Home" section. It was one of those nice investment opportunities!

To all - thank you for your comments! I did submit this as a request to AR, and am hoping that they add a 'Report Spam' button into the "My Home" message boxes, where the spam 'contact' occurred.

Spam, unfortunately is just a way of life no matter what platforms we use.

Hi Lynn - Best course of action is to use the 'Contact ActiveRain' link at the bottom of every page to let the AR Team know about it. They'll never be able to completely eliminate spam, but can take steps to block an IP or domain.

We seem to get a few of these spam cases even here in the rain.. We can't hide from it.. :(
