Rhinecliff Hotel Yesterday I dropped in on Mr. Chapman at the Rhinecliff Hotel.  I did not have an appointment but he graciously had Emily show me around.  When I first moved to the area over 20 years ago, there was this old building in Rhinecliff that was badly in need of repair.  I was so thrilled to see someone take on the task of renovating this old hotel that had so much history and meaning for the community.  This was a very long process with requirements that had to be met to the town's satisfaction.

Finally the hotel opened and of course I wanted to take a peek.  I was not disappointed. The place is spectacular, a beautiful remodeling job and an awesome view of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains.

I told Mr. Chapman he had picked a winner, with such a beautiful location he would have no problem being fully booked.  Emily told me that this is already the case.  It is very popular with the NYC crowd, an appealing feature is that the Rhinecliff Train station is right there so you can literally step off the train and walk to your hotel room.

Rhinecliff is one of the few hamlets along the Hudson River that has remained intact and is part of a scenic corridor.  I consider it the gateway to the rest of Rhinebeck if you come by boat or train.

So Emily took me on a tour. I saw the most exquisite banquet room with a view to die for.  I was told that already they have catered many special events including weddings.  This room is perfect for a corporate event and reminded me of my days in telecommunications when we would find these unique places for off site meetings.

Emily then took me upstairs to see a couple of rooms,  I saw the honeymoon suite  and another called the Hudson Room.

The Honeymoon suite, like the Hudson Room, has a spectaular view.

Jennifer, What a beautiful hotel!  That's wonderful that it has been revitalized rather than demolished.  I lover your slide show.

Marchel it is a beauty and if you could see the view.  I would love to watch a sunrise and sunset from one of the rooms.  I am really happy to see many old homes renovated instead of being demolished  This was an important place in the communityin the past, now it can recapture that position and keep the history intact.

Missy - It was such a great subject to write about.

Paddy - I too love the idea of rehab.  Yes this is a terrific site for a wedding.

Cynthia It is beautiful and convenient, not everyone drive up from NYC so if they take the train it is right there.

Nannette - I am sure it would have many a story to tell.

Becky- Throughout the post I placed  links to the hotel website.  The thing with price is that it varies based on season, weekdays and weekends so it is best to call or email for price based on when a visit is planned.

Gita - Thank you.  It is certainly worth a visit.

Hi Jennifer,

What a special looking place. You did a spectacular job showcasing it too. I'd love to see it someday.

A few days ago I looked at your location on a map I thought I might be able to pay a visit while heading to Niagara Falls, but decided not to head that far north. I'm heading to NYC in Dec. to see Rockefeller Center for the holidays. Can't wait to see it.
