On Sunday, I received a call from Nancy Dunham, a reporter at the Baltimore Examiner  interested in my special listing 2349 Southfield Ct. Finksburg, Maryland 21048   She was looking for a  good home to feature in her story about auctions.  Nancy was on a deadline and needed all the information by that evening.  I was available  to provide the copy.

The above story  ran in the paper yesterday and even though I have not seen the actual paper (the news box was empty at the corner) I have gotten calls and emails with questions and interest in seeing the home. This is  the best definition of what I call Accelerated Marketing.

Margaret - how exciting to have that increased exposure AND a good response rate. Sounds like auctions are really taking off in your area. We don't seem to see many out here yet but actually drove by one yeaterday for several multimillion dollar waterview homes in a small new home enclave.

Do you know how she found out about your listing?

Jeff

Nice article, Margaret!  I hope it brings you some business.  Learning more about this is still on my list of things to do.

Jeff, You wrote " Sounds like auctions are really taking off in your area. We don't seem to see many out here yet but.."  Maybe it's time for you to start the trend and make it "take off". I spoke with Nancy earlier today but did not ask how she found out about the property. Will try and find out.

Gary, That photo was the model home's family room.

mARTi, No doubt you are the master of marketing. We all love these opportunities and this is another reason to answer your phone!

Margaret, Any additional exposure helps us to sell the homes. I am ready to talk to you about auctions whenever you are available.

Margaret,

It shows the value of taking our listings out of the classifieds section of print media and showing them off as a feature or news article.  I wonder if that is something we could do as individual agents to help increase exposure to the public?

Laura, I like the way you are thinking. We have to continue to come up with creative ways of getting the most exposure for our sellers.

Laura, I just made this comment on your blog:

"Laura, I just clicked your CALL ME button at 5:50 pm just to see how long it takes for a return call. It is 5:51 and I am now on the phone with you."

Enjoyed talking with you. Thanks for responding so quickly.

Wow, Margaret, that is so great!  You even got me to read about print advertising on your other blog too!  What a lovely, inviting home.  Tell us about the bbq open house in another blog.  What a cool idea! I would love to hear about that!

Cristal, That BBQ open house is in the planning stages. I will let you know about it..... unless we have it under contract first.. oh would that be great?  I have buyers with serious interest but.....one has a home to sell and one is having a bit of a challenge getting a mortgage. Maybe we will have the right buyer  from this news article.

Bryant, Sellers are ecstatic and we are getting really good calls. I spoke with the seller when I got the reporter's call and then again when it came out. They actually saw it before me. I have only seen the online version.

Bryant, Laura was awesome with that quick response. Very impressive!

Hi Margaret...I'm pleased to see that auctions are working in your area.  They have not in mine, at least not yet.  We have had some properties auctioned but received very few bids.  Perhaps it has to do with our location.

Congratulations on the super publicity for you and your listing.  The price sounds fantastic for the size of the house.

Kate, Thanks for stopping by. Maybe it's time for you to offer the option of auctions to your sellers.

This is a terrific home for the price. Hope to find the right buyer soon.
