Kennon pitching during the Southwest RegionalsThis article on SunGazette.com offers a profile of "Top 10 U.S. Players to Watch" in this year's Little League World Series.

I'm so excited that my favorite baseball player, Kennon Fontenot of Lake Charles, made this prestigious list!

Kennon will either play shortstop or pitch this Saturday night at 8:00 Eastern, 7:00 Central time. Like all of the World Series games, it will be televised on ESPN.

The Lake Charles Little League team has already made us proud, having won the Southwest Regional championship in Waco last week.

These are photos taken by Kennon's mom during the Southwest Regionals.

Of course, the entire Fontentot family, including my friend, neighbor, former agent, and now sales representative for KPLC TV, Stephanie (and Robert) Ryder are all enjoying the Williamsport experience.

Meanwhile, I'm relegated to taking care of the Ryders 2 cats and Trooper, the lovebird!  Foul play!

At least  the Ryders have a far superior HD TV and they left a refrigerator well stocked with one of my favorite adult beverages.

Hopefully, I'll receive some photos soon showing the Fontenot and Ryder clan enjoying Williamsport.

That's a very cool tribute! I've had friends and relatives who've made it past the locals and journeyed toward the little league world series. It's so much fun for everyone. It's especially nice now that the coverage is there.

Thanks, Chuck!  I've just received some more photos from Kennon's mom. Hope to post them today or tomorrow, perhaps with an interview as I sent her some questions in hopes of capturing the family perspective.

Judi, the photos were taken by Kennon's mom.  Hopefully, you know by now, that South Lake Charles  won their first game.  Kennon's pitching was awesome!  The entire team is a class act.

MK, yes, we recorded the game.  We were in Austin at the AR Gathering/Jason Crouch's B'day Party.  We watched it when we returned home and were cheering them on.  I didn't want to check here on AR because I didn't want to know ahead of time if they won or not!!!  Awesome Game -- we truly enjoyed watching the boys play!!

We watched this afternoon's game also!!!   :)

Lake Charles has shown some awesome pitching in the first two games. It's hard to believe these kids are so young until you see the emotion at the end of a game. Good luck to Lake Charles!

John, you are so right and thanks for wishing them good luck.  The entire Lake Charles community is so proud of these kids.

Judi, great that you recorded. One of my jobs is to record the games and I thought I had messed up on the first one.  Fortunately, I am at 2 for 2 on the recordings.

Kent, Kennon and the entire team did great and had a grand time.  The local Little League and the city gave them a tremendous welcome home celebration.
