Russet Woods and its sister neighborhood Southwood are conveniently located 3 miles off I-459 at the HWY 150 exit. Students attend either South Shades Crest or Deer Valley Elementary, Bumpus Middle School and Hoover High. It is about a 18 mile drive to downtown Birmingham city center and there are several ways to get there - so if the interstate is backed up, you are not trapped.
