Well, I was surfing the net and happened upon this website, read a few agent's blogs and thougth " I can do this!!" what a great place to chat and learn. The first I'm very good at, and the second I can't imagine not doing.... your never too old to learn!
A bit about myself (if you're interested) I've been an agent since March, since leaving Kids Shoes at Tacoma Nordstrom after 4 years. I've worked with Nordstrom for 15 years between 1982 and 2008, with a few years off to get married, have 6 children, (aged 7-23) have another career in School Food service management, and return to Nordstrom. I am now staying at home and working FT at my new career.... one that I LOVE!!! I miss my customers/friends from Nordstrom, but went back and sold in July for the Anniversary Sale, as well as listing/selling a house.... I was pretty pumped!!!
I feel strongly about being a mom and wife first, but also know from experience that women can do/be anything they want.... I enjoy helping people, service to others, and while I do that here as a mother, I also enjoy being around grown ups and others. And home is one of the most important things to me, so it makes sense that now i would be helping others to find their homes. My husband had been telling me for years I should try, but I was doing well doing what I was doing... something new seemed overwhelming! I finally decided to try when I realized it hurt a bit more this year than last when I had to bend/squat/carry to help kids with their shoes.... I wasn't getting any younger. So I bit the bullet and studied (first test I've taken in 20 years!!) and I passed!!! since then I have been learning so much, and have found I really love the people and this business. Can't imagine doing anything else.
We've lived in Tacoma for 8 years now, and I am native to Wa, being born at Auburn General and growing up in the Burien/Normandy Park area. Our oldest son was going to Bellarmine, so we moved from Buckley to the Narrows Area in Tacoma and LOVE it. this is such a great community, not too big, not too small, so many things to do. Parks, shopping, views, water, theatre, restaurants, sports...... it's been a great place to live. So check in with me from time to time, I'll let you know what I'm learning, introduce you to my family, and hopefully learn from you as well.
Cheers!
