On August 19th 2008 The New Metropolitan Restaurant in Fort Myersis opening under new ownership and this one will be interesting to take a look at.This Opening is dear to me as the new owners: Chris and Ray have been my clients and friends for some time now and will take possession of the restaurant on Monday the 18th. They are from Belgium and in order to get a E-2 Visa they had to purchase a business. We looked at quite a few potential restaurants before coming across on this beauty. Chris immediately wanted to buy it. The restaurant has been in business for quite a few years but it will have a brand new flavor. Come and take a look if only to get a cold one or try some of their great food.Running a restaurant is not a walk in the park and we need all the help we can get!
Hopefully Fay does not make to much mess and will stay a tropical storm!
Quite a few things are going to stay the same others are going to change.First, and this you will like, the prices will drop. The New Metropolitan Martini Bar will still have jazz on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from around 5pm to 10pm. I don't have the exact hours as they are still working on these details.
There will be more food at the outside in between the Dance Club (new) and the Martiniat the Ticky Bar ( not the formal name but they will have a Florida Tiky bar atmosphere). The formal GrandOpening will come later on when the Tiky and the dance club will be renovated. For the time being it will be opened around 5pm tp 11pm or so six days a week and will still have Karaoke once or twice aweek. ( Saturday night was one of them)
They may have brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Its going to be exciting to see this restaurant take another direction with straight forward food,as pizza,freash seafood and salads, pasta dishes in gneral, chicken fingers,shrimps,spaghetti meat balls, bisque and chocolate mousse (and other delicious foods) ( which I have tasted and its just out of this world!) Some more fine dinning will also be available. There will be more TV's in the Tiky bar for sports, specially for football and baseball. Call about the Happy Hours.
For the younger crowd and the young at heart, the dancing club will have a dj, special light affect, dance floor and modern ambiance. Of course I am also looking forward to some supurbe Italian food. otherwise the music elsewhere at the New Metropolitan will be a mix of jazz, rock, blues, alternative and country...unless you do kharoke and nobady can recognize the song !
Its easy to find. Take a right from McGregor Blvd)or (left if you are come from Fort Myers Historical Distric) to College Parkway under a mile to your right there is a large sign. There is a shopping center in the same area and a Wal Mart.
DON"T FORGET: TUESDAY the 19th of AUGUST 2008! Should be lost of fun.Its going to be a great place to kick back and enjoy some good eats in Fort Myers or just go a little wild on the dance floor.
