We are so fortunate to have a number of businesses around the lake that make life easier and more lake Anna Nurserypleasant for us.  One of the best is Lake Anna Nursery.  It is the go to place when you need some color in your life or a new tree for your yard.  Maybe you are looking for some yard furniture to provide a little more seating for those guests that love any opportunity to come visit and spend some time out on the water and relaxing on the deck.

Having a nursery close at hand provides us with just about everything one could need or want to shape up our gardens.

Begun in 2000 by Steve and Linda Burdette, the business has expanded greatly through the years.

The Burdettes had a successful business in Northern Virignia, the Green Giant Nursery on Silverbrook Road in Lorton before bringing their expertise to Lake Anna.

Along with the help of their son, Steve Jr., they have created a one of a kind resource for home owners at the lake.  The location the Burdettes selected at 71 Oak Grove Drive at the corner of Route 208 (New Bridge Road) makes it very convenient to stop by just to browse or when you are looking for something specific.

Lake Anna Nursery carries a large assortment of stone for hardscaping projects, different types of mulch, a full complement of planters, tools, and garden accessories.  You will also find a wide variety of trees and shrubs, both evergreen and deciduous,  perennial and annual flowers, a very large selection of hostas, and just about every other type of plant you could hope to find.

The Burdettes are also able to provide flowerslandscaping design and installation so if you are starting from scratch there is plenty of help available.  Perhaps you feel your yard needs a complete overhaul, if so they are ready to make that happen.  If it is some fresh plantings you need to put a fresh face on your garden you will be able to get that accomplished also.

blue HeronThese photos just give you a hint of what you will have to choose from and the service is top notch.  The Burdette family is there to help you find just what you need when you need it.

LA Nursery

With all of the new homes that have been built around the lake in the last several years the need is certainly there for a a company like this one to play a big part in the future growth of Lake Anna's commercial community.

If you have not taken a look at Lake Anna Nursery stop by soon, you will be pleased with what you see.  Or, if you have not been there for a while it's time to stop back and see the changes.  It was really very exciting for me.  I'm sure you will be surprised also.

LA Nursery

Perhaps you can tell from these pictures that it is a fun place to spend some time.  Even if there is nothing in particular that you have in mind you just might find something that catches your eye.

Be sure to consider the nursery as a place if you are looking for a gift no matter the occasion.  The selection is large and you will find plenty of items appropriate for birthday, holiday, and housewarming gifts. Lizard

I have fond memories of a neighbor state to yours and have traveled in Virginia many times.  It's a great area.

Kate ~ Their plants look very lush and healthy, and it sounds like they are a one-stop shop.  I like when I can pick up a new pair of gardening gloves while I'm getting that new bush for the front bed.  I can't tell you some of the nursery's I've gone into and plants are pot-bound or dying because they are so dry.  I am due to go to the nursery soon myself, and get some new plantings for my front beds; thanks for the reminder!

Wow, Kate!  That looks like a delightful shop!  I just love the pot and the gecko!  So colorful!  If I could find those around here I'd have them right out front.  Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven known as Lake Ana.

Hi Richard...As Virginia is not my birth state I feel free to brag about it.  I really do think it is a great place.

Thanks for your comment.

Hi Kathy...As we are miles away from any other nursery we are really fortunate that this one does carry such a diverse selection of plants and other items.

I was pleased with the quality of the plants as we've been having a dry spell lately.  They do look pretty good.

Hope you find some nice plants for your yard.

Hi Carol...All I can say is "come and get them".  Wish you could.

I'd offer to ship them to you but have not idea what condition they would be in once they arrived.

The gecko probably would make it.  Let me know if you'd like me to check it out for you.

Hi Carole...If I drop into any of the other nurseries or similar shops I'll keep my eye out for a large tortoise.

I might get lucky.

Kate, this sounds like my type of store!  Great pictures.  The lizard is really cute also.

Love the pictures and tour, Kate. I would especially like that big planter on my patio - ooh lala.

I have bought those gloves that look like they are dipped in rubber - they are really great. I am thinking I might buy a pair for my kitchen so I can open jar lids with them.... my big guy is out golfing quite often 8-)

LAKE ANN NURSERY it was the WORST experience ever .I was the only customer at the time. A man the "OWNER" was going to sale me some fish. He acted like he didn't wont to help me. So he tuck me and my kids in the back of the nursery. The fish pound was nasty, green, and just dirty. You couldn't even see the fish. Then he got a net and fished for about 15 min in one corner and I only piched too smell fish. The owner told me that he had over 100 fish in there but he don't have a good way of getting them out. The ones he tried to give me were little baby's and didn't look like they would make it home. Then I said 'I drove all this way for too fish" I would like to have more. He said "will that's all I'm going to be able to catch today" the pound was only 10ft by 5ft and there open 9-4 on Sunday and that's all I get. He could have done a lot more construing I drove all this way and call before coming to his nursery. Instead of trying to sale me just "too fish". He could have take more time helping me then just GIVING UP on catching them. I was SO MAD that I told him to "put the too fish back I didn't want any". So after that in found the KOI FARM the same day and it made my day. I spent $85 that day on fish. My experience at the KOI FARM was GREAT. The kids loved it and had lots of fun looking at all the fish. The service was Excellent they tuck there time helping me and realy in lighted me about the fish. The pricing was good and the fish are very healthy. call540-967-5019 FOR KOI FISH
