Is your home sitting on the Metro Detroit real estate market? Have you asked yourself why?
Is it because it needs work?
Is it because your home is over priced?
Is it because your Michigan home has design flaws or external conditions that you can't change.
Concentrate on the items you can change?
If it needs paint, paint your Michigan home. If you have wallpaper on the walls take the wallpaper down. If the outside shrubs and trees need to be trimmed get it done. Items that will add up to less than $3-4,000 should usually be done in my opinion. The first impression will help sell your house. Replacing the one room of lime green shag carpeting will help sell your home.
Deodorizing the house by not smoking inside, painting the walls, and cleaning the carpets will help the house smell better. Get rid of the animal smells, the mildew smells.
Of course the most important thing to do is price your home right. Ask your local Michigan Realtor for a up to date comparative market analysis. Look at the recent sold homes that are like yours that have sold recently. Look at your current competition. Many Michigan home sellers are still overpricing their homes.
Sometime Michigan home sellers can't sell their homes for less because they owe too much. Or they need some money to buy the next Michigan home. But if you can price your home to Metro Detroit market conditions then your Michigan home will sell.
