Many of you knew Bruce and/or followed his blog. I filled in for him when he wasn't able - which wasn't often and he even fired me once! Anyway, it's been a challenging time since his death, but I'm back on Activerain and will be blogging from my own space. However, Bruce had a wider audience and I thought I'd use his space to jump start my re-entry into Activerain... and to thank all of you again for your support and encouragement - it has meant so much to both of us. Below is my first post as I re-enter my virtual home on Activerain.

LUCY! I'm home............. (edit/delete)

Well my name really isn't Lucy, but close friends call me LuLu. And I'm not really home because I don't have a permanent home now, so my home is where I am at any given time. For now and for some time into the future, my virtual home will be Activerain.

Some of you will remember me, but more of you will remember my husband, Bruce Bourgault. His battle with cancer and then his unexpected death on Oct. 27th, 2007, changed my life forever. Since then I have been met with many challenges, some of which have been successfully concluded, others are still in process or the outcome(s) is presently unknown. Over time I will address some of these challenges, but for now I just want to let you know, "I'm home and very happy to be back!"

If you remember many of you participated in Bruce's "Hot Dog Day" on November 17th last year. It's become an annual event now for many of us, so add it to your calendar's and enjoy a hot dog, a cold drink, kick back with friends and share the good times while creating more memories and stories to talk about.

Thanks again to all of you for your support, prayers and encouragement along the way.

I'll be posting again very soon.

Linda (LuLu/Lucy)....it was spooky seeing this blog at the top of my subcribed list!  It's been at the bottom for soooo long.  I miss Bruce's posts (i'm sure others do too) but I did not have it in me to remove the blog from my list.  I'll check yours out and get subscribed to it immediately.

Mary,  I wondered if it might blow a few people's minds when they saw a posting from Bruce's blog. I'm going to keep his blog open as there are things that many can still gain from reading his posts and I will cross over from my blog from time to time to see how things are developing. Thanks for keeping him on your list!

Carol, Thanks for your welcome message. I've been thinking about returning for awhile, but today was the first time I was ready to begin again. I have copied his blog to a CD and even printed it out for the grandchildren as it's a good way for them to remember their Granpa B.

Linda, my friend, I'm so happy to see you back in the Rain!  I must confess that my heart skipped a beat when I saw his picture at the top of my list -- but I knew it had to be you updating us on your progress.

Of course, every time we have hot dogs, I think of Bruce.  I'm hoping the next time you're here in San Antonio that we will be able to meet for lunch.

Now, I'll go back and check your blog and leave a welcome back message there too!  :)

Linda - I'm with Judi, my heart skipped a beat as well.  I came across Bruce briefly, his insight, experience, & wisdom remain a positive influence on me to this day.  Maybe I just cry to easy these days, but seeing that face rustled up tears from the heart of my being.

I'm glad that you are well, Linda.  It's quirky, I actually was watching an episode of 'I Love Lucy' earlier today... and here you reference that famous line.  I'll be staying in touch... Lucy;-)

Sally, I'm back with an very opportune message! No one takes a Bourgault from Earth without another taking his/her life in stride. Bruce's death was our personal 09.11 (9/11) ... there's so much to do I'm still floundering as what precisely is my path, purpose and passion that I'm seeking.... yet I believe AR is part of my path.  So here I am - stay tuned! Meanwhile I think we need a sidebar conversation. Mahalo, L

LuLu... I will agree with both Mary and Jason..... especially after hearing today, that another AR member past away the other day...  Karen George ...  Karen George, Rest In Peace

In any case, Bruce will be missed... good to see you back some and my prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hello Hello. I am certainly glad to hear from you. Glad to have you back.

I drop in and read Bruce's blog every now then. His presence is sorely missed. I think of him when ever I eat a hotdog. I remember he even blogged from his hospital bed.  Amazing! How in the world did he sneek in his computer? What was interesting and touching is how Bruce actually found us in cyberspace and personalized the experience.

May God continue to keep you in his care.
