Small Beach Town-

Soon we will seeing some changes here in Hobe Sound. First is Tiger Woods and his wife Elin will be building a home here and as a big fan of his I hope the community will welcome him and give him privacy.

Also we are going to have some new construction on US1 do to a new shopping center featuring Hurricane Grille and Starbuck's. Although I am excited for the changes to come, I hope our little beach town stays little. Isn't that why we are here in the first place?

If I remember from my West Palm Beach days, Greg Norman and another big name pro golfer live on the island. It was at Norman's house that Bill Clinton fell on the steps while he was out "taking a stroll" at some ungodly hour in the morning. He ended up in a WPB ER later.

I don't think Monica L. was at the bottom of the steps.

New on AR and came across this post....months later, I see.  Anyway, still no Starbucks, but I have seen the proposed building sign pop up. I could do with out one, personally. Banburry Cross has excellent coffee and they have been run by a family for many years. Plus, there are like 6 Starbucks in Stuart up the road if you want one bad enough.

Fred- I remember hearing all about that incident of Pres. Clinton's...

Hobe Sound is a great place to live and really hasn't changed all that much in the 30 years I have been here. It seems to hold its own pretty darn well.

Patricia, I love Hobe Sound!!  My husband did the stucco work on a Winn Dixie shopping plaza there about 10 years and we also deep sea fish down there.  Oh yeah and you have Mike Dooley, you guys are so lucky!!!
