In case you missed it, our NP Dodge Wildcats are 4-0 in the American Legion Central Plains Regional tournament in Minot, ND after a 16-1 win tonight over Dubuque County, IA.  They will play for the regional championship and a berth in the 2008 American Legion World Series on Monday at 1:00 p.m. vs the Missouri state champion from Blue Springs, MO.

The Wildcats have previously defeated Blue Springs 14-4 on Saturday and must play a second game at 7:00 p.m. Monday if Missouri wins the 1:00 p.m. game.   The Cats have outscored their opponents in their 4 tournaments games 55-6 with 3 of the 4 games only lasting 7 of the required 9 innings.   If you wish to follow the action live online, click here for the GameTracker http://www.baseball.legion.org/2008/livereg.php.  Choose the Central Plains Game 14.

The winner of the Central Plains regional tournament will be flown directly to the World Series tournament site in Shelby, NC this week for a first round game on Friday at 10:00 a.m. vs the winner of the Western Region.  This World Series presents the 8 best American Legion high school teams in the nation.  What an honor it would be for our coaches and players to participate.

In the 13 year history of Millard West baseball, this is the furthest any varsity team has advanced in American Legion post-season tournament play.  We are extremely proud that they are representing Nebraska, Omaha, Millard West, NP Dodge Real Estate and the entire Wildcat baseball program in such an awesome way!   Please join me in cheering on our team to a World Series berth tomorrow!
