I registered my domain on Yahoo in 2006 thinking that it would be easy to renew it when it came time.  NOT !

When Yahoo sells you the domain it is actually a Melbourneit.com domain - in Australia.  So, now you're trying to renew it and everywhere you go you are asked for your user name and password.  What user name and password - I don't have one for my domain.   Every techie I spoke to said CALL Australia - I wasn't getting any responses from Yahoo.

It took the entire day on Monday with calls to Australia and finally tracking down a Yahoo phone number that didn't put me into voicemail hell.  Finally my domain is ready to move.  I'm moving it to godaddy.com - the domain will be in the US and I can easily renew online in the future.

You gotta just love "Customer Service" these days........My favorite is when yo are on hold and the pre-recorded message says "Your call is very important to us.....................blah, blah, blah"  All I hear is "Your call is very important to us, so continue to hold while we ignore you!!!"

I originally bought one of my domains through yahoo, because the price was atractive.  It was a pain.  I quickly changed it over to GoDaddy.  They have great customer service.
