Some reviews of our presentation:

Stick with the "trends" of the business. Love hearing about what a difference staging makes in "all " markets, (good economy or bad). The topics you spoke to were great. Keep the same format. Great door prizes (even if I didn't win one)!!! - Cynthia

Thank you so much for inviting me. The Expo was a success. You should be proud. As a former Fashion Merchandise Director for several renowned Retail Department Stores, and now launching a new Staging business, I was especially impressed by the Trend Reports as this was an important part of my job as Fashion Director. Most business owners do not understand that in order to be successful, and remain on top of the food chain, keeping abreast of current trends is a must and in all areas, not just Home. Trends crossover from many different areas: Lifestyle, Fashion, Politics, Auto Industry, Colors, Fabrics etc. We must keep in mind that our clients, (Homeowners, Realtors, Developers, Vendors as well as Buyers), are all influenced by what's going on the the world. Stay Tuned In People... It was a great event, can't wait until the next one!!! - Felicia

Alright, IF we're going on the road Chris, that bus needs the Expo and StagersLIST logo on the side or I'm not getting in.

This sounds soooo cool!  I wish I was closer and could attend.  Best of luck to all of you!

Sounds fabulous.  How far would this event be from the border crossing?  Maybe some Vancouver stagers could travel down together.

9:42pm • #4

Can't wait for the event!  For those of you in Vancouver, Canada the event is in Portland which should take approx 6 hours to drive.  The location is just south (approx 20 min) from the Oregon / Washington border.  YOu can also take the Amtrak train down - it's a GREAT ride!  It is shaping up beautifully and would LOVE to have anyone join us!  Anyone coming from northern California can hook up with the train and come up from there!  Be sure to register through www.StagersLIST.com  so we can count on you!

VANCOUVERITES:  Just checked www.amtrak.com  It's a bus to Seattle, train to Portland.  8 hours total.  Leaving Sat puts us into Portland at 6 p.m., when everything is all over!  Public transit would mean leaving Friday, and staying overnight.

Leah, in case you're interested... I know Gail Alexander (http://activerain.com/settingthestage in Seattle is trying to get a group of people to charter a bus down together.  I think there will be a lot of people from Washington joining us.  FYI local hotels (within 1/4 mile) are La Quinta http://www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyProfile.do?ident=LQ856&propId=856   and Holiday Inn http://www.hiportlandsouth.com/home.htm

We are also trying to negotiate group rates at the hotels, so if you're interested, shoot me an email and I'll give you the details!

Terrylynn - looks like another great presentation I am going to have to miss out on because of location.  Would love to attend - I am sure it will be an informative Expo.  Good Luck!

Sounds fun!  I am sure you will all have fun at the expo... nice bus chris!!

8:07am • #10

I am so glad to see the bus will be stopping here in my area! It looks like a wonderful event and I can't wait. See you there!

This is going to be an exciting event and I am hoping to get at least one busfull (55) to attend this event in Portland.  Those of you in Canada, if you would like to come down and join us, we would love to have you (just think of the fun not only at the event, but coming and going).  Plans at this point are to have the bus pick us up in 3 locations.  Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood (north end), Southcenter Mall (south end) and Patti Peyton from Gig Harbor suggested a stop in Tacoma (which is a great idea...thanks Patti) so probably a stop at the Tacoma Mall.  Do we need a stop in Vancouver, WA and if so where would be a good on and off I-5?

If you are interested in sharing the bus ride, please email me ASAP as we need to get the bus reserved soon as there is a convention in Seattle that weekend and our options are limited.  Cost for the bus ride is approximately $30. round trip (if we get 55 people).

Hope you all decide to come.  They had something similar in California a month or so ago and it was a HUGE success.

Ronelle, you are SOOOO kind, glad you got alot out of it.  And, I am looking forward to Mary's talk too, she is amazingly organized and a good speaker.  I enjoy her take on things.  You can hide in our suitcase and come with?  How are things in your area?  Haven't seen you for about 6 weeks...are you all doing a RT, perhaps we can come to yours and hook up?

Hi!

I was just wondering if any other training provider besides CSP is able to sponsor these events or is it exclusive to CSP?

I ask because a particular training institution is saying the Expo is exclusive rather than inclusive.

Not trying to stir up trouble...hate to ask but now I'm curious.

Terrylynn, you must have a BIG suitcase, lol. wouldlove to have an RT, but there is not to much to offer stagers around here, I have to go to Concord, Walnut Creek, Sac or Roseville for that kind of thing. By the way I have unique situation going on here can I send you a private email?

Dane, speakers MUST be sponsors and EVERYONE IS WELCOME - NO RESTRICTIONS AT ALL - ALL STAGERS, DESIGNERS AND REDESIGNERS ARE WELCOME TO THIS EVENT regardless of training.  Sorry there is misinformation being spread.  It's absolutely not sent out by us.  We know that as a strong and unified industry we all thrive and there there is room for all of us in the industry.  We are excited about the fact that the stagers of today are the people creating the industry of tomorrow.

The Expos are well received because they are opportunities to network and because we exclude no one. The responses have been wonderful.  The Trends talk is valuable for all stagers as are the other topics that are very current for anyone running a viable business.  Actually Trends today are affecting tomorrow's business and most stagers are so busy working today that they don't have time to prepare for next year.  Our topics are designed to give valuable information for the business stagers will be doing next year.  Then we have Realtor tips, Marketing your business and Warehouse from Mary DeBella, who is an expert in this arena.  The attendees are in for a real treat.  It just gets better with each one we do.  You'll just have to stop by one and see what we are talking about.

Thanks for the great Expo in Portland.  What a great turnout to an awesome event.  Everyone I talked with loved the information everyone shared and felt it would help them take their business to the next level.  You do a fantastic job and your willingness to share information is exactly what our industry needs to propel the industry forward.

For any of you with an Expo coming to your area, be sure to make plans to attend.  You won't be disappointed.  These gals are great.

To all the expo organizers, the event was awesome.  I started my business this year, and this was my first industry event.  It was wonderful to see other people to take this business seriously and are such true professionals.
