Now that's a term if ever there was one.
First time I ever heard it was when we moved (in 19710) into a community just outside the "beltway" of Washington, DC named Lake Braddock. It was the first exposure we had to the area and after overcoming "sticker shock" we settled in.
Folks, bedroom communities exist fifty miles south of Washington, DC now. Some as far south as 65 miles! We are not going to venture that far yet as we explore some of the communities in the vicinity of Fredericksburg Virginia. This one is in Stafford County Virginia and it is called Leeland Station. The community derives its name from the Virginia Railway Express station located on Leeland Road.

The community of Leeland Station is gifted when it comes to location because it is less than a 10 minute drive to Historic Fredericksburg and about a three minute drive to a shopping center that provides just about all of the services you need in your day-to-day living; cleaners, barber shop, upscale grocery store, and restaurants.

Oh, did I mention that Stafford County has chosen to place an elementary school right at the perimeter of Leeland Station? Yes it has and it is one of the newest in the county.
The community has several amenities for its residents; several playgrounds, sidewalks, nature trails, clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, and basketball courts.
In 2006 homes in Leeland Station sold for prices between $390,000 and $623,390. Currently, home in the community are for sale between $439,900 and $620,000.
Here is what you can expect to see in Leeland Station:
