| Our company is going to sponsor MANY contests throughout the counties we market. For the elementary schools, we are working on coloring contests. For the middle schools, we will focus on something maybe something earth related. For the high schools, I am not sure yet, but maybe it will history based.
We awarded ribbons to every participant and trophies in three age categories. We did this for less than $100 and the kids were elated! We took their pictures, put them up on a website and the school paper even wrote an article on the contest. Not only did we team up with the school as a business partner, but we held a contest that every participant could be proud of. We also did a pizza party for the class with the most entries!
After the contest you can send a thank you note to the parents for allowing their children to participate. Send them a business card and let them know your willing to reach out to other schools or organizations in the same way. Be sincere about it!
You can expand on this idea in many ways. You just need to be creative.
Being active in your community is one of the best ways to build your business. Let people know it isn't all about the commission. It is more about helping the community and making a difference. Once you do this, you will want to do more and more. The smile on a child's face is worth more than any amount of money!
