I took this picture while on a trip to find garnets in Utah. I loved how serene this pictures looks. It makes me just want to get away and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Away from the demands of daily life. To remember that there is more to life that bills, work, and stress.

It is times and places like the one you have here that makes us realize how insignificant our stresses might be.  I was also fascinagted with your "garnet hunting".....have you found any ?  That in itself can entertain you......

I love the way the water goes into the distance and the color in the skyline at the end.

Tanya- It was a great photo opportunity just before dark.

Kathy- This was my first trip to find garnets. I didn't find any. I may have been in the wrong area or maybe I just didn't recognize them. I will have to try again. My sister may have found a large one. We will have to have it checked out. I am going to post some pictures of the area in a blog soon.

Carol- It does look like it goes forever.

Julie, what a beautiful photo, you certainly are surrounded by beautiful scenery.. Do you 'pan' for garnets? I've never heard of anything other than gold, so it's intriguing to me.

We were looking on the surface and digging through rock piles in the draws. The winter thaw moves some of the rock and also they have been digging a pipeline for natural gas in the area and have brought some to the surface.

Julie, Great shot.  Make me want to kick my shoes off and enjoy the coolness of the water, or jus lie back and chill out.

I love how it turned out. I take several pictures when I travel and never know what I will end up with.
