Kick off your shoes AR, its time for the BEACH!

It's Beach Season here in Delaware!

Here are some Pros and Cons you can look forward to if you live ANYWHERE near any crowded beach.

PROS

  • The sand. Most people love to take their shoes off and relax on the beach! There is usually a breeze, everyone is happy and nice, and it is R&R time.
  • The water. For those who dont have a pool, or even if they do, some people just love to be by the water. Whether its for the sound, the smell, or to get in for a cool down.... beach goers love the water!
  • The Boardwalk. Everything is right there at your fingertips just in case you need it. Food, shopping, games, memorbilia, food, shopping.....
  • Put-Put Golf. The American Pass Time. Okay, so maybe its not that big... but if your playing with your family, friends, or spouse... you are shore to laugh, smile, and just enjoy yourself.
  • Seagulls. They eat your left overs!
  • Rides & games. For the big kids, or the little kids, either way everyone has a blast!

CONS

  • The sand. It gives everywhere, and I swear youll find it hidden somewhere in November!
  • The water. Your eyes burn, your skin is dry.
  • The boardwalk. 1 million people, enough said.
  • Put-Put Golf. Ever heard of a slipped disc?!
  • Seagulls. They poop & we all have our bad days.
  • Rides & games. You better be rich. Or ready to sell your arm & leg!!!

But hey, all in all it is a great place to live by. Fortunately we live far enough away that it only effects our traffic on Friday & Sunday (Memorial Day-Labor Day). I am near the Lewes Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Bowers Beach, Slaughter Beach, Dewey Beach of Delaware...they are mostly within a 20 to 30 minute drive away. Its nice to be only a hop skip & jump away!!!

Mickey~ I love the beach and never thought about there being ANY negatives about living there....  I guess I could put up with the negatives just because I love it so much and would love to live there!

Mickey - I LOVE the beach - we use to live in California within about 5 miles of it.  Spent a lot of time down there when the kids were young.

Mickey,

Thanks for the post. I must agree with Vickie McCartney, I can think of no negatives when it comes to pleasures at the beach.

Hello!Hello! I just wanted to stop by and say have a safe & Happy week-end. Now this post makes me want to go to the beach... we do not have any here in Tennessee. Good post and I must say the positives out weight the negatives. Have a good one Brenda :)

I have to agree that sand can be a pain but I wish we had the beach near us!  You are so lucky!!  Hope you take time to enjoy it :)

Mickey, I grew up just 3 blocks from the beach in Texas and didn't fully appreciate it until I moved to beachless territory. I'd love a chance to live on the beach again. The pluses far outway the minuses.
