I'm swamped with work this week so I am going to post up early. The below photos are from just one job, a wedding I shot this weekend.
What makes this unusual is the following: I'm not a wedding photographer. I maintain this by telling people to use other, better photographers that specialize in weddings (there are plenty). If that doesn't work, I insist on outrageous fees.
Sometimes that STILL doesn't scare them off. Then again this wasn't your traditional wedding.
The ceremony was held at Rialto Beach. Now, if you've never been to Washington it's an amazing state from a nature standpoint. We've got one of everything. We have the forests, mountains, valleys, volcano's, glaciers, rivers, lakes, coast lines, islands, and deserts. We also have one of a handful of temperate rain forests in the world. If you've ever been to temperate rain forest, you know what I'm talking about when I say there's nothing quite like it.
Rialto runs right up against the Hoh Rain Forest and it doesn't get it's name for nuthin'. Sure, that's the first place you think of when planning a wedding in March right? ;)
Anyway, it was cold...and it rained. But it was also moody, and atmospheric, and really beautiful if you can get past the lack of convention.
I'm going to kick this off with a photo I took ages ago the first time I was at the beach. Here it is:
Here are a few photos from the wedding day:
