Hi All,

Recently I was in San Francisco (along with around 1000 or so of my friends) for the wonderful Active Rain party, the awesome Zillow Beer With Bloggers, the killer Trulia open house, oh, and a crazy little thing called Inman Connect

So, after spending time filling my brain with technology tidbits I took a little cruise down to Pier 39, the famous Fisherman's Wharf to inhale the sea air, crack a crab and gaze in fixated fascination at Alcatraz, when I came upon some Sea Lions who appeared to be there to do the self same thing (imagine that !).

After watching these little and not so little guys and gals basking in the sun I realized that right there, before my very eyes was a vivid demonstration of the Real Estate Market.

As I stood there staring, I wished I could share my findings with everyone and then I realized - holy smoke... I can!

As the proud possessor of a brand new Flip Video Camera which I had won just the night before from the wonderful folks at Zipvo and by using the awesome GPS system I won from my friends at Street Advisor (I know, I am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world and winning things is only part of it, I also happen to have the most wonderful hubby ever, two of the greatest Stepsons around, the most beautiful daughter-in-law anyone could have asked for and a granddaughter who would knock your socks off... but I digress) to get me there I was ready to document this "happening".  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Take care all, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

Tisza

Tisza -

Great video, and great metaphor!

Are these seals members of SAG?

Tisza.

Have you thought about playing the lottery in a few states every week? You seem to have a very lucky streak going on.

I like the video metaphor.  It's nice having the Flip camera just for these occasions.

I reblogged your post on my new blog that contains my favorite real estate posts "Just Real Estate"

Tisza, I got some nice shots of the sealions too. They are fascinating to watch play. Nice job on the show. This was a great metaphor on the real estate market. Funny how we see everything through, this would make a great blog or this is the market.

That is great, very entertaining!  It is oh so true.  It is all about the location.

Hi All,

Kacem - Thank you, I do too.

Dean - Thanks, And yes they were all union members.  You should have seen me down there negotiating with their agents (they were repped by ICM - Ickthiosys Crustacean Mollusk) those folks drive a hard bargain and they really know how to clamp down and hold on to a deal!

Ellie - Yes, I've thought about it, but what with all the driving that would be involved when would I have time to write?  :-)

Tim - Thank you, I am truly honored.

Mott - Yes, I agree, price is a whisper close second but, ultimately truly is second for most folks.

Missy - Those Sea Lions were a blast to watch.  I will go back to Northern California just to see them again (Oh and to see Mary Pope-Handy and her family, who are nothing like a Sea Lions with the exception of (except her daughter) liking fish).  Yes, it is funny to gaze through the prism we use to view the world.

Carol - Glad you enjoyed it.

Take care all, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

Hi Ann,

The camera is awesome and I am NEVER without it.  By the way, the best price I found on them was through Amazon.com.  Incidentally, I would recommend geting the Flip Ultra and not the Migo because the Ultra uses AA batteries and the Migo has an internal battery that needs to be recharged (oh, and it is more expensive).

Take care and have a great day!

Hi Jeannette,

Thanks, I thought so too.  And, despite the fact that I know that these animals are lethal, they are just so darn cute :-)

Take care, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

You seem to have a thing with animals and insects and the real estate industry.  I agree that location is king, but right behind location is price, price, price.  Great metaphor!
