Market Common in Myrtle Beach will host the end of summer celebration for the first time.  It is a great time for all who attend and is a wonderful way to celebrate.

  The 57^th annual Sun Fun Festival ends with the third annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival August 29-30 at Grand Park, The Market Common.  The main attraction is the food.  There will be three eating/cooking events that promise to attract the nation's finest competitors.  In addition to the food there will be live music, boat rides on the lake, Kids Zone, arts/Crafts vendors, and fireworks both nights.  Here are some of the events:

 Friday, August 29

Beach, Boogie & BBQ 5K Run/Walk, 1-Mile Run/Walk and 50-Yard Tot Trot - Registration begins at 4:00 p.m., 5K at 6:00 p.m., 1-mile run/walk at 7:00 p.m. and tot trot at 7:30 p.m.  Registration is located near the boat dock, north side of lake.  Download an application at BeachBoogieBarbequeFestival.com or call 843-272-1717.

 Anything But Pork Contest and Tasting, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. - Sample dishes from shrimp Creole to homemade ice cream and anything in between.  Located at the football field, south side of lake.  Sampling tickets are five for $5.00.  All proceeds benefit Omar Shriner charities.

 John Michael Montgomery Concert, 8:00 - 9:30 p.m. - Grammy nominee John Michael Montgomery will perform his many country music hits as well as introduce some new material from his new CD.  Bring a chair or blanket.  No coolers, please.  Located Main Stage, north side of lake.  Concert is free.

 Saturday, August 30

  Smoke on the Beach Official S.C. Barbeque Championship, 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Look on as the teams prepare their barbeque for judging of ribs, chicken and whole hog/butt.  Located at Football Field, south of lake.

 Official Beach, Boogie & BBQ Welcome Ceremony, 10:00 a.m. - Officially kick of this Labor Day weekend festival.  Appearances by Miss Sun Fun USA 2009, Miss Sun Fun Teen USA 2009 and more.  Located Main Stage, north side of lake.

 Celebrity Meet-and-Greet with Austin Peck, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Meet Austin Peck, Brad Snyder from "As the World Turns".  Get an autograph or take a photo.  Located at Tent 1 near Main Stage, north side of lake.

 Wheels at the Beach Car Show, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Car enthusiasts can view more than 200 classic and antique cars organized by the Myrtle Beach Car Club.  Vote for your favorite.  Located along Farrow Parkway.

 Celebrity Meet-and-Greet with Murray Bartlett, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Meet Murray Bartlett, Cyrus Foley from "Guiding Light".  Get an autograph or take a photo.  Located at Tent 2, south side of the lake.

 International Federation of Competitive Eating - BBQ Sandwich Eating Championship, 2:00 p.m. - Come see some of the nation's finest and perhaps messiest competitors as they vie for the BBQ Sandwich Eating Championship trophy.  Located at front of Main Stage, north side of lake.
