Soliciting in Maple Valley

Right above my doorbell hangs a sign that clearly states "No Soliciting". It still doesn't deter the determined vacuum salesman to ring the bell. . Little does he know - that I know that it is illegal to solicit in the city of Maple Valley. Yes there are exceptions to the rule that can be found on the city's website. I understand they are trying to make a living, but when they take over our neighborhood 3 times a month, it gets a little old.What happens when you tell them you aren't interested and that you already have a wonderful vacuum, they get upset because I won't let them in my home to clean my living room carpet - which truly was just professionally done. So, the next time a pushy salesman comes to your door and demands you let him clean your carpet, politely remind him that what he is doing is illegal and you can easily pick up the phone and make a phone call to the local police, but the next time cute little Girl Scout comes knocking on your door to buy cookies, smile and make sure you order an extra box.
